Basically, I can get a really good deal on a GM supercharger for the eco, but my girl's car is a 2.2l. What all needs to be done besides bolting it up, changing the belt size, and re-flashing the PCM? Just want to make sure so I know if I can do it without spending a lot more money on modifications to make it fit. I heard something about the ribs on the pulley's? Any and all info you can give me would be much appreciated.
Thanks
If its an 2.2 Ecotec there are a few posts about what parts you need, where to find the install guide and if it is even worth your time. Also check out the custom work Airtonics has done with the M62. Search for "Ecotec Supercharger" and you should find plenty of stuff, you will just have to sort out the "is it out yet?" posts from the " i found a eco s/c online, how can i make it fit?" posts.
If its for the 2200 or something else I'm not sure.
The only good quality and tested Eco S/C's out are the GM kit and the RSM Racing kit. GM does not make a 2.2L Eco kit, nor does it have a reflash for one. GM only has an S/C for the 2.0L Eco, which is found on the Cobalts and the Ion Redlines (pretty sure). I'm not sure how much work it would take to put a GM S/C on a 2.2L non-Eco but a bolt-on kit from RSM Racing wouldn't be a bad idea, although I'm not sure as to whether or not the buyers of this kit have been satisfied.
Sorry if this is unclear, in your subject title it sounds like you want to put a supercharger on an Eco but in your post it sounds like you want to supercharger a 2.2 so I'm somewhat confused. Hope the above helps at least.
Blown.
if you're talking about putting a s/c from a 2.0 eco onto a 2.2 eco than you'll probably have to run a stand alone system. im pretty sure thats what others have done.
This one alright mods?
that last one wasnt half as bad as others I've seen on here...
if you want boost give it a few weeks and there will be a new turbo system out that with but the HAHN kit to shame.

I doubt it... HIGHLY doubt it, I have seen, raced, driven and watched a hahn turbo cavalier and it is AMAZING quality. My buddy with his hahn stage 2 put down 265 whp and 245 tq on 11 psi.

well fatcavy...since you cant be on AIM when i am. What is so good about this new kit that it will outdo a kit that has been tested more than anything else out there? please tell me.
if you tell me this is a maximum boost kit and its gonna be uber great i will laugh in your face and wait for you to blow up.
if this is a truely decent kit then make it know. i have a feeling your full of @!#$ or your just out to bash Hahn.
in either case...quit bashing a company that has a better reputation than you could ever imagine having. THANK YOU!

black flame as far as boosting goes, I would suggest getting the hahn kit or going custom. If you're dead on about the ecotec sc ask airtonics, I am sure he could help you

if you can tig and have access to a mandrel pipe bender and powder coating machines with the proper know how you could make a kit far better than anything on the market but few have all those things

Yeah, well it IS the stock GM supercharger from a supercharged 2.0L ecotec, and I can get it for $700 with only 10,000 miles on it, or even a new one for $900. I'm not going to spend the money on a custom turbo or S/C kit because it's for my girl's car, and I already plan on doing a turbo kit for my car so that's where I want to spend the big money. I just want to know how involved it would be to install the 2.0L GM charger on her 2.2L '04 LS sport. I know it will bolt right on, I just need to know what other modifications would be required. I will search through the other posts though, but if someone could give me some info in this post I would really appreciate it, because I have very limited time, and a slow computer, so it takes forever to search through old posts until I find something with some useful information in it.
Thanks again
To sum it up, its going to take a lot of time, money and grief to get that thing to work....it will not "bolt up".

Check the GM build guide for the ecotec
< here > which shows all the things you have to do to physically get it to fit...

My my. dont we have our panties in a bunch. All you had to do was LOOK AT THE DAMN DATE of that post and you would have seen it was from Monday. But I guess your blind.
I dont care about your opinions on Hahn. Period. They make no difference to me. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean you can try and ruin their reputation. I don't care if you go to Chill Factory. Have fun with that. Iv'e heard bad things about them too. Things I know are true. Not like the BS stories you told me about Hahn. But whatever...that's your opinion and your choice. I've made mine and you have made yours. I'm sure the owner of Chill Factory just loves to see all the trash talking your doing in his name. Makes him look real good doesn't it.
Bigger downpipe? Well since Hahn is into the mid 11s on theirs (which is also mine) I think I'm fine for my expected needs at this time.
Biiger Charge Pipes? See above.
Oh and new numbers will be out next week. I guess we'll finally see what this kit can do. Last 2 dyno days until I make a few changes.
