Is it true the 2005 sunfire has an electronic throttle body?
200HP thats it? Airtonics but down 218WHP with his setup, and that doesnt have the reflash and was running like what, 8.5 PSI i think.

i honstly think it's gonna be underrated....
gotta sell those cobalt ss's
but with a few bolt on's to go with it i think you would have 200some hp to the wheels

What, do you think they're going to put out a 250 hp kit and totally destroy their own sales of the Cobalt SS? What person in their right mind would buy an SS for $21K when they can buy a cav for anywhere from 6-10K and then put on the supercharger for another 2-3K and be WAY faster anyway?
Beyond the fact that this is CARB approved, and has room for growth since obviously you'll be able to up the boost (the stock SS pulley may even be an upgrade).
Personally I think its far more worth it to grab the setup off of an LSJ because then you've got the intercooler too... then just get the flash./

He is also running more boost that the GM kit will make with the stock pulley and he is intcercooled unlike the GM kit.

so no workie on the 2002 ecotec?
Well in the GM ecotec build book, it stated that "some 2002 cars equipped with Delphi fuel injectors" if i remember right. So if you don't have those injectors, I don't see why you couldn't just swap them, unless there are other factors that weren't mentioned. Either way, the install instructions implied that 02's may work.

why not? Think about it, how many people know enough about cars to put a supercharger on it or even know that one exist? Its not gonna demolish sales if they release it. The tuner crowd, especially chevys 4 cylinder isnt very big. Yeah some people will buy a supercharger kit instead of a SS, but the majority of people will just buy the SS. The majority of the people who buy an SS now have no clue of the Ecotec supercharger for the 2.2L Hell if i had a choice right now between an SS or a Cavalier Ecotec Supercharged, id take the SS in a heart beat. They sold what, like 250 Supercharger kits for the Ld9, thats a very very very small percentage of cavaliers on the road. Granit the model year was limited to just 3 years, its still not very much.
I think Gm might honestly still be thinking of weather or not its worth it. Alot of the Ecotecs still have warranties, and if something breaks because of the supercharger, they will have to fix it. My guess is they are waiting for the warranties to expire before they release it.

I was at 9.5 psi, stock ion redline pulley, stock exhaust and yes it's intercooled.
I'm unsure what size supercharger pulley will be on the GM kit when it's released, most likely larger than the one off the stock redline.
That doesn't mean you coudln't run a smaller pulley, but not having an intercooler won't help either. I'm glad I did my setup the way I did. Opposed to waiting for GM and I also have full control over my fuel/timing with the Emanage.

^^where exactly did you find that setup from the ION?
GM doesn't deserve to sell a single damn kit after all the BS they have pulled regarding this for the last 3 years. My money is going to Hahn.

GM are released what they call an 'extrude honed' exhaust manifold for the 2.2 engine - the ports have been widened up, this would probably help your setup a bit...

You might find that the reflash will get rid of the torque hole at 3000rpm which i noticed in your dyno graph...
Ta, Paul.
well if they wait for the warranty to run out if you bought 6 year warranty like i did i have screwed my self beyond belief

i'll be 30 before i see that supercharger. It kind of makes me wish i would have waited and bought the saturn with the 2.4 or learn how to drive stick and bought the redline.

i bought the extended warrenty and sold it back to the dealer ship after two years. i got like 600 bucks back. You might want to do the same thing.

If its worth doing its worth over doing.
but that only works if the loan has been payed off other wise the just take it off the loan. well i guess either way you get your money back but i would rather have it in hand than off payments
