you don't... really... you have to do a top feed conversion...or use TBI injectors (dont think you can do it without a standalone)

go to rceng.com you can get any size injector you want. you can send yours in and have them built.

Sooo many people give this answer. So far RC Engineering has refused to make changes to the 92-97 2.2 pfi injectors.

I'm using tbi injectors from a 91 Saturn SOHC engine and a modified OBD1 ecm from a turbo Sunbird in my 93 Cav.

The top feed conversion is probably easiest.

Yeppers... the search engine rules.

Especially since I've gone brain dead and can't remember the name of the thread with the nice pictures of VTLoki's conversion.

I think someone needs to try making an adapter plate to mount the 2200 mani to the 2.2L head It would have to be pretty thick, but mass production would be a breeze Just have to find some low (I think?) impedence injectors to stick in it (just a detail, and easily accomplished).

I agree

major was looking into this at the beginning of the year, but found it to be too expensive.

the first one was gonna cost us $1500usd, and everyone after that $50usd!

how much would you pay to have this adapter made?

If you sold more than 30 at $100 a piece (a steal IMO)...look how many people buy the adapters to fit their 2.3L manis on the LD9s...

you are right, how many people would actually be willing to fork out that kinda cash though?

How many people are that serious about making decent power with their 96-97's?

I can maaaybe think of 6 or 7 offhand...

I have the facilities to get a flange cut, but that 2200 fuel rail needs some attention, its a POS.

oops, I should say pre '98 sorry.

yea the 95-97 fuel ail blows. the 2200 fuel rail is just fine.

Seeing as someone puts up one of these posts about every week, I think they would sell eventually. You could probably sell some to companies like JTuners as well, seeing as they can reach a bigger market. $100 really isn't that much IMO to fix the (basically) only real problem with these engines, I'd probably buy one just to try it out for a little while (wouldn't run the plastic manifold under high boost anyway). Also, if you 'have the facilities,' you should be able to get the first cheaper than $1500, no? The only problem I see is that the ports may have to be longer than the engine bay allows...

I have an extra set of bosch style injector bungs if anyone wants to buy them off me

they'd be good for modifying your 96 fuel rail and doing the top feed conversion.

The 2.4/2.3 injector spacing is the exact same as the 2.2's. I'll be using a 2.3HO fuel rail and custom fitting it with an -8AN fuel inlet, and a -6AN fuel outlet (to the aeromotive AFPR)
