Im thinking of getting a new wastegate for my 88 sunbird. It seems to be acting up. My question is....does anyone know of an aftermarket wastegate that will work for me.....I would love to get an adjustable one.
just get a new stock one and then get a manual boost controller

is it internal or external? because an internal wastegate should be adjustable.

not all them are^^
a lot of the garrett T3 internal wastegates are adjustable. i don't know.

The stock sunbird 2.0 turbo wastegate is internal and its not adjustable.....a lot of people cut the rod 3/8'' and I just remembered that you need a bleed valve to ensure that your computer doesnt see more boost. I guess Ill have to go that route.
the sunbird turbo isn't a garrett t3 is the garrett t25, internal wastegate, i have the turbo grand prix's in my hand, same thing but bigger. mbc would be the way to go. the computer will see more boost either way.

Some of them actually came adjustable. I have two of the stock turbos that are adjustable and one that isn't. If you do want to keep the stock turbo, you could try to find one of the OEM adjustable wastegates. It would be nice to upgrade to a larger turbo with an adjustable wastegate. Look into that too if it is an option.

Awsome, I guess that wastegate is found on the 89 or 90 gt. Ill check that out, my only concern is.....will I definitly need to get a bleed valve......or will the computer let me have another couple psi without a fuel cutoff
what psi is stock?
saturn 5speed turbo 8psi
93' z24 grand prix turbo 3.1 swap, crane 272 cam, 3100 hybrid op end swap, t04b turbo

Ive heard both 7 and 9 psi. I havent tested mine.......but I plan on chopping a 1/4" out of my wastegate rod and Ill thread it back together with a coupler and two lock nuts to I can do some fine adjustments.
mine held 7 stock and spiked as high as 15.... It hits the cut-off when it spikes like that. You can turn it up to like 10psi or even a little higher, but it is going to spike and shut down. You can use a zener diode so the map doesn't see the spikes or a bleed valve.

maybe you've never taken electronics
saturn 5speed turbo 8psi
93' z24 grand prix turbo 3.1 swap, crane 272 cam, 3100 hybrid top end swap, t04b turbo
You havent either if you cant answer my question......................
well that links posted but like any diode its a one way check valve, but the zener has a built in presure reliefe that comes in at breakdown voltage, it will allow reverse current to flow
