^^^ Haha yeah i agree, it'll be a cold day in hell when that turbo setup hits 280 hp on 7 psi. Let me put it to you this way, Spotabee is right, its a baby turbo, its small, and it wont make the same hp at the same psi as a larger turbo. My turbo is a Garrett T3 super 60, with a turbo header, intercooled, and im running at 10 psi, and no way in hell am i running close to 280 hp. those kind of BS claims are more then enough of a red flag to stay away. Put together your own kit if money is tight, otherwise you just gotta accept that you get what you pay for.
Sorry forgot to mention, for around the same price, go get a J-tuners kit, there reliable and great to deal with.

A bone stock OHV 2.2 puts down about 90whp, how much of a gain do you really expect from a basic turbo kit???
I personally thing a turbo that can support 150% more power than the motor makes stock is plenty.

It actually has a "High Nickel Composite Cast Exhaust Manifold", not a log manifold. How many other turbo kits for j bodies offer a cast manifold?

I'd still feel safer buying from a company that R&D's their own custom fabbed kits on cars, like JTuners. Not this ebay special generic bull@!#$. I have no doubts what a T25 can support. However, comparing trims to trims, and motor mods... can you tell me that anyone running a 280 hp turbo car (not that their kit would make 280 hp at 7 psi anyways) would run a T25 turbo? Because anyone with a 280 hp cavalier has serious amounts of bottom end work as well as head work and flowing enough cfm's to spool a larger turbo more efficiently.

So you just don't like they kit because of its hp rating? I really doubt its "ebay special generic bull@!#$" if they go threw the trouble of developing a cast manifold, aluminum charge pipes with multiple bends and fuel upgrades. Like i said earlier in this post i could never find anyone who has actually bought this kit to comment one its quality but from its description it sounds like the most complete, well put together turbo kit for the OHV 2.2 i've ever seen.
I have never looked unto the JTuners kit until just now but it costs $700 more than this other kit and it doesn't even come with fuel upgrades??? Nothing against their kit but it doesn't sound like the better kit IMO.

thats funny......my T25 on my 2.0 lets me blow past stock cavaliers.......must be a @!#$ty turbo right haha......For anything over a 2.0 I would be inclined on using a slightly bigger turbo because smaller turbos work good for small engines because it takes less energy to spool......with your slightly bigger motor.....you could make a T28 or T3 work great.......Spotabee doesnt understand that small turbos work better on small motors
the smaller turbo is better for the street , itll spool quicker , and produce power quicker and over a wider range
to me that is a good thing , for street use where 90% of the people use their cars
I'm not going to get defensive if that's what some of you were thinking. I'm not on here to battle... my preference has always been to go with a turbo that's small enough to spool low in the powerband, but at the same time, be large enough for top end and lots of highway fun when a smaller turbo can get heat soaked and become less efficient.

everyone always says that the t3 spools a lot slower then the t25 blah blah blah.... ..... maybe people should just relax a little and just think of the next best way to create less lag.... HOW ABOUT SMALLER CHARGE PIPING.... I have 2" charge piping all around... and 3" full exhaust......... my 10 psi comes so fast that I don't give v8's a chance........there is NO time from launch to shut down that my car isn't in boost (I get the revs off the line with the manual tranny, and powershifting).......with a t3 60 trim....and log manifold..... intercooled

SKILZ...thats fine that it can produce 250whp..........GREAT... but it's press map will run out of CFM WAY TOO FAST for a 2.2 thats why when people using the talon 14b or 13b turbos upgrade to a big 16g t25 at least ..or up to a t3 turbo.........the t25 is good to a 2.0l motor displacement before the efficiency runs out.......anything bigger then a 2.0l is too much cfm......
and SKILZ you said about 250whp from a t25 when the claim is 280hp.......... check out adlers profile........... he has pretty much a fully built motor....... and he ran around 280whp.....so I DEFINITELY AGREE WITH SPORTABEE
don't go and buy this kit when not one person has purchased it that we know of..... don't go buy this kit with a t25 turbo... the SECOND you want to turn up the boost... bye bye cast manifold, bye bye t25, bye bye charge piping (needs modifying) bye bye downpipe........ might have to change some oil fittings.... NOT WORTH IT... PART THE KIT TOGETHER or buy a hahn kit...

Yes a T25 will spool faster than your T3 60 trim, no matter what exhaust or charge pipes you have.

The 4G63 used in the DSM's that comes with T25's flows a hell of a lot better than a 115hp 2.2 and it also has a higher rev limit. Most people who want to turbo their 2.2 don't want to blow their motor or ever built it to hold lots of power. As long as you're not trying to make more power than you should for a stock 2.2 OHV the T25 will be fine. If you want more hp because you have a built motor this kit is obviously not the best choice.

yes but the real arguement here was the kit... granted SKILZ a t25 is a fine turbo but Not for this kit with the HP numbers it "claims"... it's a BS kit and a BS HP # if you ask me....
great bang for the buck of course..... but man come on a t25 turbo vs. a t3 turbo.... more top end and trying much less to get the CFM ......
DOn't forget the press map will run out of CFM on a 2.2 thats why they used t25 on a 2.0 ....

Why are you still trying to argue the hp numbers the kit claims with me, seriously why??? I never said i agreed with their claims or anything close to them.
Why are trying to argue the T25 vs T3 top end power with me??? I never said the T25 had better top end, i only said it was suitable for the OHV motor.

LOL thanks for all the opinions... unfortuantly this past friday my engine suffered some serious detonation in cylinder # 2. Cracked off top of my piston and smashed the bits of the piston into my cylinder head. So i think turbocharging is out of the question right now lol. I was spraying a 55 65 and 75 shot on her for 2 years before she finally blew. Ill have pics on her of the damage.

Alright, this one of my last posts of thew month so I will try to make it a good one. T-25 can funnel 250whp, depending upon engine and bearing style. On a 2200, it offers quick spool, good acceleration, and great driveability. A t3 60 trim would be fine, but is it too much turbo for the ohv? I don't think so. The safest boost imho on a stock block is around 8-9 pis max. I would run 6-7 psi on a DD ride. The T25 would do well at these settings, not giving into heatsoak easily.
Nitrous Nate, you need to re-build your engine for the boost that you want. Re-build it so it can support a T3 super 60 at 10-11 psi. That would yield some serious power, for an OHV motor.

and SKILZ I'm not really arguing..... just giving my opinion about the kit and the numbers etc... and I know you wouldn't agree with those numbers.. your smarter then that... haha
whatever it's safe to say..... t25 for a daily driver in the city would be great and a t3 60 trim would be a little better for a suburb highway infested area like where I live......
