Turbo and Exhaust
Wednesday, October 26, 2005 12:32 PM
I have a turbo kit on the way for my Ecotec 05 Cavalier. I have the Magnaflow 2 1/4 in. dual cat-back exhaust. I can't decide what to do exhuast-wise for the turbo kit without buying a whole new exhaust, cut-out, or get a bigger pipe to run up to the point where the cat-back splits to 2, or what. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Say I get a cut-out and have it closed for street driving, would a loss of power from the restriction be the only result? Thanks in advance.

2.5 from the turbo back 2.25 will work however your leaving some power on the table keeping it that small

Thank you guys. I think I'm going to go with an exhaust cut-out.

couldn't you for the winter just disconnect the boost reference and it would stay closed ???

hmmm I read up on it and it seems this way... I am really pissed I went with a 3" exhaust system.... seems to be a sweet alternate....

that billet steel should be just fine over the winter. if you want the flap to stay closed, just take the vacum line off
