couple of different factors can influence your decision. one would be what size turbo you have? another would be what power gains are you looking for? Think of it this way....the smaller diameter piping will allow quicker spool up because you will be filling less of a space w/ compressed air....but the bigger diameter piping allows more cfm to flow if you have the turbo for it.

i plan on changing my piping over the winter, most of your turbos have a 2" compressor, so im going to run 2" pre intercooler and 2.5 after to the tb

off topic but josh looks like you plan on making a return to a cav.

so 2.25 will make the turbo spool faster

are you going to sell your old piping brandon?

yes, the 2.25" piping will make the turbo spool quicker. 2.25" should be fine for you.

it's best to try and buy an intercooler that has your desired pipe diameter end tanks as well. For example, an intercooler that has those 2.25 or 2.5 inch end tanks as opposed to say a 3" so you don't have to do a bunch of crazy @!#$ with it. But yes 2.25 or 2.5 is ideal

it also depends on how much boost your running. people usually run smaller pipe before the intercooler and larger after. I am running 2.5 with no probs, incase you decide to upgrade the turbo, turn the boost up or do more mods just go with the 2.5
