I just installed my 35# brown tops and Accel AFPR along with my fuel rail which now has a fuel pressure gauge on it... When the key is turned so that the fuel pump runs, should my gauge read 40-ish PSI then fall down to like 20 or 30 and stay there? I was under the impression that if the pump pressurized my rail, and there were no leaks, the rail would stay at 40psi? But then again, the FPR is probably letting the gas back down my fuel return line. I don't see any gas leaking anywhere.
I don't have my FMU on yet, it'll be here Thursday. But the car started and idled just fine. Would I be able to tell if I had a bad injector or anything at idle?
So my questions are:
1) Is the fuel rail pressure supposed to drop to 20-30psi when the car isn't running?
2) Can you tell if there is a bad injector or bad connection at idle? Like a misfire?
Thanks guys! I'm almost boosted!
And I can't wait.
Oh...
3) Is there supposed to be a rubber O-ring on the fuel return side of the FPR? I don't remember removing one from the stock FPR, there wasn't one on my return line, and there wasn't one with the Accel AFPR. I'm guessing there isn't supposed to be one? I added one anyway.
yeah there is supposed to be one...mine didint come with one either and had to go buy a little one from Autozone. I tryed without it at first thinking it wasnt supposed to be there..and started the key and gas was leaking everywhere..put the O ring on and i was good to go! as far as fuel ressusre im not sure what its supposed ot be at when the car is turned on possition. I wouls try keeping those 35lb around 30 ish Fuel pressure when your at idle to compensate.
between 25 and 30 psi is a good base pressure for your #35's.... my 42lbs in my 2200 require like 21 psi at idle....... then jumps when I hit boost.....from my RRFPR....
Thanks
