I know most people tee off from the FPR, but I'm wondering if there are any issues with tapping in on the other side of the GM blower where the MAP is attached. Will having a larger line down there in any way affect the MAP readings? Would a leak there cause catastrophic problems?
Just want to ensure it's not dangerous as it will make for a cleaner install for me to put it there.
just do it, I dont really think where you tee for a boost gauge as long as it's a solid vac line and you have no leaks
mine is off the map...

I had a check valve on my MAP, so that would've been retarded

But your map is not looking to read boost to add fuel and pull timing.
WW, its fine to T off of that line, nothing will be effected unless you have leaks. Just snug down a small zip tie at all the connection points and you'll be good.

i wouldnt do it.
i would run a new line from the FPR to the spot on the s/c. i would use some windsheild washer tubing as it is thick and easy to work with. Put a "T " in that line and run the line along your fuel return line .
I wouldnt want my map vaccum/pressure to have to run all the way to the interior then back to the sensor so to speak when you could have it a mere few inchs.

It's not so much that it would have to run to the interior and back. It's more that it would simply have a larger area to pressurize, including the line going to the interior as well as the tube to the MAP sensor.
My concern is what would happen if it leaked. If there was any sort of leak in that line, the MAP sensor would read a lower pressure than what's actually in the intake manifold under boost. What would happen then? Would it go lean or would it notice from the O2 sensor that it's going lean and give it more fuel regardless of what pressure it's reading?
just put it on the fpr and dont worry about it
