Hey guys. I have a little problem. When i turn my car on it sounds like a Camaro for a little while. It will idle at 1200rpm and it will take about 5 minutes to go back down to 900. When its at 900rpm it sounds fine.
Now from what the delership says is that its running to rich. Also i have the Hahnrace craft stage 2 turbo kit on it. Im pretty sure its been doing that since i installed the kit. Before i installed the kit the car sat for about 7 months cause i was out on deployment.
I just upgraded my exhaust to a 2 1/2 inch and it has a small exhaust leak by the muffler. Im not sure but it sounds like there might be one up towards the engine too.
What do you guys think is causing the car to sound / idle like this? Is it a bad thing? Please tell me anything that might help. Thanks guys and sorry if i gave you info that you didnt need.

When I start my car, the RPMS shoot up to 1200 or so also, but it does not take anywhere near 5 minutes to drop back down to normal idle. Usually a minute or two at the most. I've heard this is just the oil pressure stabilizing or something. Either way, I never put the car into gear until it goes back down to normal idle.

Question, does it also do this if you shut it off after its been warmed up / driven and then turn it back on? My car only does it from a colder start, after the engines been cooled down a significant amount.

I'm not sure if that all applies to your situation, but being that I have the same turbo kit I thought I'd let you know. Someone more knowledgeable may know something else.

i have the same problem except it doesnt if i turn it off and turn it bac on when its warm it still does it for a few minutes and you can hear the tone uf the engine go up and down and up and down hmmmm???

yea it does it pretty much everytime i turn it on. Always in the morning
