WHERE TO FIND ECOTEC TURBOS?
Tuesday, September 20, 2005 11:58 AM
Hey,
Finally getting a turbo for my ECO.. However, I need to know if possible where can I find a good deal on a full system. Besides, hahn racecraft, or turbo-kits.com.. Does anyone know of other sites?
Don't want to spend more than 1800
Thanks

if you dont wanna spend any real money you can go to ebay and try to piece it together. but 1800 is slightly low for good parts that havent been abused.

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

Hypsy,
Thanks.. But talk to me man... Would love to have your STAGE II.. How much am I looking at installation? How many hours professionally or by people sort of knowing what to do (Following instructions etc)
Did you need to get any other parts that were absolutely necessary???

It took me around five days woking in the evenings to install my Stage 2, its not tio hard of an install, I put it in myself with a buddy, but its good to have someone close by that knows their turbo's when you install it. Plus buying a kit is a better route to go if you ask me, all the parts are there and they are all calibrated/made for your application. Plus you have a tech line you can call if you have any problems.

You just need a good tool set and the fuel hose quick disconnect tool (cheap). Other then that, your pretty much set.

for 1800 you will get a piece of @!#$ turbo unless you get killer deals on everything. I wouldn't spend as low as that simply because @!#$ty parts mean @!#$ty running. But hey it's your car.

15.891 @ 88 mph stock, still getting @!#$ty launches...

i installed my hahn stage 2 in approximately 49hrs. that included fabbing up a new end of the downpipe for my 3in exhaust and then making the sidepipe.
me and one buddy did most of the work and my boss did the exhaust stuff.

fairly easy install but getting the intake pipe in place was a PITA. that was really the only bad part.

only thing ive added to the kit so far is a boost controller. had a IC sprayer but it wasnt covering enough area and hence not cooling enough. when i get a bigger ring set it will be back on

The only good way to go cheap is to build it yourself from the ground up. If you cant then expect to pay for what you get. Hahn is the way to go for a kit for the ecotec.
