Geekd,
It looks like you need a set of slicks. When you have slicks, it will be time for a set of stronger axles. I am selling my set of DriveShaftShop level 3 axles & hubs with ARP wheel studs.

actually i blew a couple of dss axles already and the stock izusu tranny is still holding up (holding my breath... it wont take much more) as soon as i can track down a good condition quad 4 ho 5-speed tranny and swap that in, slicks will be a must

dave thats bad as ss man. I pulled a 9.009 at I think 76 and that was with a 2.0 60ft time. If you get good traction I know you would dip into the low 13s high 12s even on a few more pounds man. Your motor can take alot with it being fully built . Up it to 15 and you would be pulling some awesome times.

Which DSS axles were you using? The level 2s or the level 3s with the hubs?

adler, i have the level 2's without hubs.

i blew the drivers side axle twice, specifically the outter cv joint locked up TWICE! gahh. now on a stock drivers side, with a broken dss level 2, that isnt warrantied anymore apparently.

Well, its time for you to upgrade. Buy my level 3s with the hubs.

If you're spinning your tires at 70mph you need to get a multi stage boost controller to be able to run a lower boost pressure at lower speeds.

What was the 1/4 ET and mph, or was this just a 1/8 mile track?

i'm not worried much about the axles... not yet anyway. i'm working on that HO tranny/axle swap that sunfightergt and a couple others have done.

and yes this was just an 1/8th mile track, and boy was it bumpy and slippery. boost wasn't my problem. the 18" wheels with those tires and a soft suspension is killing me. maybe if i was motivated i'll have it well into the 12's by next season.

btw if this were a good track on some smaller wheels and drag radials.... with that speed i should be already in the 12's... but may be missing my transmission after that run

Yea, I forgot about that. The shafts were upgraded to a 300rr metal and hubs have been heat treated. So my axles & hubs are actually stronger than the level 3s.
