Hey whats up guys. I know this is posted like every other day ,but I need the truth and the facts.
I have a 00+ 2200. They have 19lb high impedance injectors.
I have read back and forth that 00+ Z24 injectors are high impedance 24lb injectors.
Some people say the Z24 00+ only have 19lb injectors, and some say they have 24lbs
Does anyone have any facts of proof that they are 24lbs?
Because I need more fuel for my turbo, I think these stock 19lb injectors are going to puke soon and I noticed I am starting to run a little leaner more and more. Yes I am cheap and don't want to buy $xxx.xx for some injectors right now.
you cant handle the truth !!! in best military voice
LOL
i never had mine tested , but the 2.2 injectors have 2 pintle hole , and the 2.4 has 6 , and the eco and 2.4 s/c have 4 holes
my 99 (sfgt) had goofey small plastic injectors. the doner engine from a 99 grand am (2.4) had the fat metal ones. no clue what they were but they are 60#/hr's now
Anyone know what the difference was? obviously i used the smaller plastic ones with the new engine seeing how the ones on the doner engine required a different harness. I should take pics of both for the hell if it.

How do you know the Z24 are 24lbs. I have never seen a spec sheet that has this info.
There are specs. Go to
http://go.delphi.com and look up the injectors for the GM car in question. They'll have a flow rating and the metric pressure that they're rated at.
Fuel injectors are rated for a certain flow at a certain fuel pressure. When you change the fuel pressure you're running, you change the flow rating of the injectors. For many years GM injectors were rated at 43.5 psi fuel pressure. But the 99 - 02 Z24 runs 55 psi. This means putting the Z24 injectors in a car running less pressure results in less fuel delivery. It also means that putting injectors from a car running less pressure into the 99-02 Z24 causes the injectors to flow more fuel than rated.
For the 99 - 02 2.4, GM took a 21 lb/hr injector and turned up the fuel pressure so it delivers 24 lbs/hr fuel.
It's _always_ important to know what fuel pressure the injectors were rated at, so you know if you need to change your pressure to get the same flow, or if the injectors are going to work at the pressure you want to run. It's easy to figure out with a calculator:
Old flow rate * square root of (new pressure / old pressure) = new flow rate.
Example : 24 lbs per hr * square root of (43.5 psi / 55 psi) = 21.34 lbs per hr
If you're running leaner and leaner, it's probably not the injectors that are the problem. Make sure your fuel filter is clean, that the pump is good, and that the electrical connections for the pump are ok. An engine getting slowly leaner is typical of pump/ filter problems, even if it is a turbo engine.

I told you ..... Why DOn't you listen.... You ASKED FOR THE TRUTH !!!! You got it .....
24 lbs........

Thank you ^^^ Very good info
One more question! What will happen if I put some stock z24 injectors in my 2200. Do both sets of injectors run at the same pressure rate? My fmu in non adjustable. I am getting my adjustable very shortly.
just realize when you put in larger flowing injectors.... your fuel pressure being the same.... you will still dump more fuel...............
