JB weld is very good for all sorts of things...including sealing leaks. try it, its good stuff. make sure that you apply it around the entire tap where the gauge is, not just the spot that leaks, and that there arent any air bubbles in it. and also make sure you mix the same amount of both parts and mix it well before applying.

I had the same exact problem. Only mine did seal at first but the guage didn't work. So I had to take it out and replace it, and when I did I couldn't get the new one to seal for nothin. So what I ended up doing was putting a pipe plug in the rail (that sealed luckily) and moving my guage to the line before to the rail. I just cut the line then used f.i. hose and some hose barbs to connect it. No leaks now.

what happens if that teflon tape bustes off and gets into what you are trying to seal?

i been using teflon paste "with teflon" for years with great luck from oil stuff, to gas stuff , to my water/meth injection set up with no issues.

teflon tape if theres no chance a small piece coming off will hurt or block up anything
teflon paste if its something that a small piece of tape could clog

thats how i was taught

the paste works as well

ive never had any problems with the tape , but i guess i shoulda said to keep the teflon tape on the higher threads , to help prevent it from getting inside and clogging something
