goodbye boost? HELL NO!

Well you can see the thread here

http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=40&i=84828&t=84828

I WAS all set ready to swap in the stock motor and sell my stuff... then I got slapped in the face by a reality check.

I realized I paid 10k for my car used. I was about to spend 4700 bucks (with tax) to swap in a stock motor. Granted I would get over 2k back with selling the charger and everything. Hell I even had the head, tb, and water injection sold (just refunded them today btw ). Point being I was about ot spend 1/2 of what my car costs on a stock motor... and I would be miserable. So I told the dealer to f' off and I took my car back.

As of monday I will be ordering forged pistons (.020 over) and rods, a new cat (i have a feeling a clogged cat might be behind my troubles) and a clutch/flywheel combo (why not since were pulling the motor and i got almost 50k on the stock units).

So goodbye boost? F THAT! You can bet your ass I'll be back up and running (with a longer sig lol) and better then ever. What the hell is wrong with you guys... didnt try and talk me out of it... for shame. What kind of jbo love is that?

mike -- yea i took it all down the other day when I picked my car up. thanks though.

lee - car looks almost like the sig. Only thing different is i painted teh door handles and the front bumper (you know all the grey areas) and added clear corners. Other then that 100% stock

bobby -- sorry man, at least i got you your money back like 2 days after lol. If it makes you feel any better I'll let you know how it works and you can pick one up heh.

joe -- gonna get a cat because its sorta required by law. if it wasnt believe me id ditch it in a heart beat

98red -- I called them *3* times and left a msg on their machine twice saying i wantved to place an order that day... they never called back. their loss.

That's the spirit! Glad you came to your damn senses...it would suck to sell a car that you invested so much money and time into just to put it back to stock.

Belive me I know, but at first it seemed that I was sorta out of options... mainly it was because I was already out of a car for a month because of the shattered lifter the first time... I just wanted it fixed and done with and have my car back. Fact is it wouldnt be MY car... it would have been a shell of what it was and for $4700 it just wuold be a complete waste... even if I made 2500 or so back from parts. Im glad Im gonna go this route.

Once the block breaks in and such Im hoping for dyno #s in the 230+ whp range

They check by you or something? Here no one really cares.

Either way, just an option, it's funny how someone is soo firm on one thing regarding the law, yet are the same person whom has posted numerous street racing stories.

Well just placed the order...

$1938 (or something like that) for it to be 2-dayed to me (which was like 150 by itself - because of weight)

That included:

weisco 9:1 forged pistons
eagle connecting rods
clutchmaster stage 3 clutch
fidenza 8.5lb flywheel
pacesetter cat (which i may not use)

I think Im gonna have to not list my mods in my sig... its gonan be too big lol

Haha, sweetness! I wish I had the money, though I do have the credit...wait, I'm in enough trouble there .

I am running the o2 sim from ZZ Performance, they're close to me, and specialize in GTP's. I had a CEL right when it first was put in, cleared it by disconnecting the battery, haven't seen one in the last 4 months.
