turbo choices

alright i have a 05 sunfire auto and a 99 z auto. i think i am going to sell the z and get boost for the fire. GM is making a super for the 2.2 eco and i was wondering how much boost will it create. Will it make boost like the ss cobalt or is is going to be like the gm ld9 charger. I am thinking turbo because it has more potential. So i am looking for a reliable kit that has proven performance I just dont want to damage the engine so I should probably stick with a stage 1 for now.

The Eco is one of those motors that just soars in higher RPM's, where a turbo does the best. Personally I'd go turbo. They are a little more complicated and of course more tuning involved, but as far as I have always seen, turbo setups have more potential. I'd go turbo with it.

I recommend turbo, Hahn Racecraft owns a street driven 2003 Sunfire that runs 11's on a built motor, stage 2 Hahn Racecraft turbo kit, a PortFueler (8 injector setup) and a bit of weight reduction performed by a 16 year old.

i wanted the hahn kit for my 03 auto cavi, but was told that they don't make a hahn kit for the auto. i hear if you redo some of the piping it will work. but i emailed hahn and they told me that i shouldn't considering it may be too much power for the tranny. i'm not completely sure about that so i hope someone straightens it out for me.

Blown.

the only problem with hahn's kit and automatic transmissions is some of the intercooler piping doesn't clear. no big deal, any exhaust shop can bend you a new piece, it just won't be as purdy and shiny. as far as power goes... you would be just fine with up to about 10 psi on your automatic transmission.

I'm not really sure at this point what can be done to the auto transmissions. The only auto transmission I know that can be beefed up heavily is the 3spd auto, which Event had done. Do a search in the transmission forum.

Um... Cavalier Connection = Jtuners now. They must not have shut down their old site yet.
