Thursday, September 08, 2005 8:07 PM
Hey guys,

Our new 2.2L Ecotec kit is ALMOST ready to be released. This kit will include all of the items that the current kit includes, but will now also have the injectors and the downpipe (finally).

Here's a picture of the downpipe:

We're only looking at about ONE WEEK longer!

Please note: Our downpipes will eventually be mandrell bent, which will be about another 3 weeks on those.

Thanks.

I would guess it fits whatever turbo/manifold he sells as part of his kit.

HMMM lets use some deductive skills here.....

"Our new 2.2L Ecotec kit is ALMOST ready to be released"

I’m assuming its for a T-3, like all his kits, it say> two point two liter ECOtec KIT, meaning its for the GM 2.2 DOHC EcoTec motor. And I fail to see how a down pipe matters when you asked what manifold would be used.... IDN probably a manifold sold in his kit? Or a manifold that would Mate to the other side of that T-3 he uses?

He’s one of the only people making kits for our cars.. Do you guys really want to rail road him like every one did to exploited? Remember the car that exploited’s kit was based off of? Brian AKA speedracerZ.. Running a 12.8 with a bolt on turbo kit. With stock RSA's.... stock internals, clutch, and what not... fuel management was a GM re-flash and a FPR....

Whatever... if you don’t want a kit... quit your bitching. Otherwise get one... if you run in to problems let him know so he can rectify the matter... even I ran in to hang ups installing my GM charger... but I let GM TEC support know about how they didn’t show to take 2 bolts out so they could fix it.... manufacturing something new isn’t an easy job... give him time.

It will matter on what manffold you are using. Not every manifold is made the same which means the actual turbo does not sit in the same location. If the turbo does not sit in the same location the same down pipe can not be used because it might have some clearance issues with hitting the firewall.

Also, that o2 sensor bung looks a little to close to the turbo if you ask me but thats just me . . . . .

The downpipe will ONLY work with the manifolds that we offer which will be provided by Cars 'N Effects right here on the JBO boards. They do great work, and they'll be doing jet-coating on the manifolds as well.

The official downpipes will be mandrell bent.

Also, these will ONLY work on the turbos that we use, which is a T3 .42/.48

When we sell the mandrell bent pipes, the turbos we use will switch to the T3/T4 style. I was told that making the downpipe for our current turbo was REALLY time-consuming...
