i have a 1996 z24 with 84,000 miles, and ive been contemplating the gmsc for sometime now, and now that im in a financial boat to purchase it , i'm now having doubts......people tell me that boosting on an engine with high milege would kill my engine alot sooner.......and knock on wood the only thing i've ever had to do to my car is change the water pump. is this rumor true, or what kind of precautions do i take once its installed?

well water pumps are oil pumps are natriously bad on the Ld9. ALso do you know whats involved with stick a GM charger on a pree 2k engine? Also you can boost an older engine as long as its been taken care of well. If you 84,000 miles of abuse, i wouldnt recomend it. If the engine feels weak, eats oil, leaks oil, rides rough, things like that i wouldnt recomend it either.

if you are nervous, don't do it. only do it if you are as sure as you possibly can be, that the motor will hold up just fine. if you hear wierd noises or it runs wierd, does just wierd things sometimes... it's going to spit back in your face when you try and boost it.

I boosted my car with 130000 km on it ............. very well taken care of mind you no noises just smooth running ........... 3 months of boost ............. same result ......... I love responsible previous owners............ They had a factory oil change scheduel ...... and never missed one ..... then I took the car changed to SYN and did changes every 3 weeks since,........ Been 2 years on 3 week changes..... before turbo ........
