Safe To Drive Without FMU? (GM SC on Pre 2K Cav)

Here is what my set up will look like,

GM SC
2.7 Pulley
320cc Injectors
LT1 Adjustable FPR
SAFC 2 (Another question, another post)

and I am wondering if I can drive the car as is to my Dads friends shop to do the Cartech FMU, I want to cut the lines there because he has the tools.

Will I F up my car if I dont run the FMU, and just the FPR and bigger injectors and SAFC2?

Sorry I am asking a lot of questions, but it is my first time SCing a car and have a ton of questions.

Stop asking questions and just blow the engine.

Umm.. if you have an AFPR crank your base pressure up to 60-70psi or so for the drive... you will idle a bit rough and the car will run rich in the bottom end but this will ensure 100% you'll have more than enough fuel for any boost you might make.

And go easy on the car as you drive it.

That's my recommendation.

you will be fine.

i at first was boosting at 5 psi with the 140k miled fuel pump, 60psi of fuel pressure from the HO injectors. man i was lucky. MY plugs were grey and showed signs of detonation. One time i was on it real hard going from 2nd to 3rd and the car just stopped/ hesitated big time. got the walbro pump in, and stock injectors/FMU and all better, spark plugs look awesome/ car runs better(HO injectors cant take high PSI of fuel).

so if u are worried just baby it.

did my FMU info help you.?

good luck

Yea, greatly. Now I just have to figure out the damn SAFC 2, I suck at wires. Hopefully the 320 CC injectors will help keep everything smooth, I think my fuel set up looks pretty good, I have a 255lph fuel pump but dont like what I hear about it. With low amounts of boost I should be fine with the FPR, FMU and the injectors so i am leaving it out of the parts to go on. I might just sell the thing for like 50$.

Anywho I cant wait to install the thing, I just work a lot and race on Weekends so not much time for the Vert, just the 83 Z28, gotta get the Z in!

What he said^

You won't see any boost that way and you won't have to worry about it.

I thought they had one. I think all the Eaton blowers do just for that reason, in case you really don't need boost around. That should solve your problem but you might still run a tad rich
