As I stated before, both M86 and M94 are GETRAG axle codes.. neither one is an automatic.

It says it right there... "manual transaxle"

BTW.. that info is from the old kit... and it was just ONE kit... for manual cars. That kit has been superceeded by the newer kit which is both manual & automatic.

A ha!

Quote:

"The first difference between the M94 and M86 transmissions is the engines
that they go to. The M94 is used with the LN2 and the M86 is used with the
LD9. The gear ratio's are may also be different, the M94 being behind a
smaller engine has a 0.94 fourth gear and a 0.68 fifth gear ratio, and will
get outstanding hi-way mileage."

Which frankly makes no sense... since you shouldn't be able to get a LD9 with a M94.. but whatever.. they're both Getrag (aka F23) tranny codes. MN4 is the auto code.

Yes... I have one... but... this...

The M94 is used with the LN2

means this...

Quote:

2000 - 2002 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4L (RPO - LD9) with Manual Transaxle (RPO - M94)

couldn't be true.... since...

and the M86 is used with the
LD9

Just order part number 12498660, and you'll be fine. That's what I did. It's $2195.95 at Pace Performance, BTW.
