Well looking at a stock 98 fuel pump there is one tube that comes out of the stock pump that the replacement (255 lph pump) does not have. Is this deleted, or not used or if not what is its function? Who else has installed the high rev pump and whats the install procedure.
Also I was told that you do not run a strainer on this pump, only a filter because it will have trouble picking up gas past 1/4 tank, is that correct?
Need urgent help this was suposed to be put in 1 hour ago.

The pump installs like stock, basically... and yes you cut the cup, and run the larger blazer sock (it's double sided).....
the 2nd line is a secondary pickup, I believe
I get fuel cut at 1/8th tank... no need to be down that far in fuel anyway... you shouldn't run a fuel pump below 1/4 tank.
Good luck...

Did you purchase your fuel pump from high rev? By any chance do you know what model number you got, I am concerned that I got the wrong one. Also does yours even have that secondary pick up or not? Mine does not.
There is only one place to put a hose on my fuel pump so there would be no possibility to hook the secondary hose up. In this picture there is one, but it is a Walbro fuel pump, where is it purchased and whats the difference between mine and it?

I thought you were talking about the walboro 255 pump. It should work withouth that extra line attached, just keep it above 1/4th tank
Mine does not have a secondary pick-up... no.
Just the primary outlet to the engine, and the pickup at the bottom with the sock.
That's it.
we did not utilize the secondary pickup as there is no provision for it.

What about the strainer, will I run a new strianer or not? What strainer will work because a stock one will not, it just falls off.

walbro has that little rubber line, but still gets fuel cut around a 1/4 - 1/8th tank.
good luck
^^ jake is correct . I am have the walbro 255 and get nasty fuel cut right at a 1/4 tank. Like clockwork. As stated above you shouldn't run below a 1/4 tank anyways so no biggie. I noticed a nice more steadily controlled acceleration with it , no hesitation, so i am happy.
