You are what you Drive!
Dont know where the hell "everyone" gets their info, but there has never been a "tach" signal in a fusebox of a Jbody....Its at the ignition module....should be a purple wire with a white stripe.....You can also find it at the PCM, but you have to know what connector you are looking for....

On my 96 it has a tach signal in fuse box under the hood. Its the #10 pin on the black connector from the ECM.
O noes!

Completely wrong on never being one in the fuse box. It was in the fuse box of the 95-98's and some 99's. The fuse is in the fuse box under the hood and I guarentee you its there, since I had a 98 myself.
The tach signal, as I know I've stated in MULTIPLE posts where you've asked this question, can be had on Connector 2, Pin 10. Even if there isn't a wire there, you can get the tach signal there, and its a full signal.

thanks
Holy crap, I just said where to find it. And I'm the guy who actually has boosted a couple of J's in his day
When you're talking the plugs off the ECM, the first one will be blue colored, the one behind it is the black connector. Pull off the plastic cap on the connector. You will see they're all numbered. Poke a hole in the rubber on the #10 hole (I used a 12 gauge wire, worked perfect) and slide it until its almost flush at the bottom of the connector.
O noes!
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
