I was wondering is it worth getting, and does anyone no how much horsepower gain it is giving out? Also, is there a another route to go beside a tubrocharger that would give me more power than the turbocharger?
thanks.
Which kit are you talking about?
Well I guess the kit that is on Cavalier Connection. I have a 95 chevy cavalier. But, I didnt no there was another kit out there. Can you please tell me about the othere kit also?
Well Cavalier Extreme has a kit, they are a new company so i'm not sure how good of reputation they have yet but I thougt HAHN Racecraft had a kit for your engine, maybe i'm mistaken, i'm not 100% sure about HAHN.

Is it worth getting?
-If you want to be boosted, yes
Gain?
-I'd say you're looking at 170-80 to the wheels with good tune
Another route that would give more?
Fully built motor on boost, built motor w/ direct port nitrous, built motor with supercharger and nitrous, procharger's universal system.........
N2O + Bolt-ons
= 220Hp/
250Tq
Coming Soon:HpTunersPro, EagleConnectingRods, WiescoPistons, 13sec2200
Hahn's kit was just released. I will have pricing, and hopefully some pictures, on Monday when I go to visit them.

A decent formula to find out how much horse power u have is take the hp u have now and multiply that by 40% per 10 lbs of boost and add 10 more hp to that and that's relatively acurate
HP*(.04*Boost) + 10 + HP
Your engine starts stock with 120 or so if u run about 10 lbs of boost Bballjamal is right although a lot of guys run low boost (bout 6 or 8) and some run more it entirely depends on what you plan to do...
your math doesnt work at all. by your math my car, at 16PSI, has 239HP. very unlikely considering i made 222 on 6PSI. and besides....40% would be .40 not .04
now if i add .40 instead of .04 it comes out to nearly 1000HP. neither way works out.
to estimate most cars will make near 10HP/1PSI. thats the best way to calculate things out. its very conservative in some cases and very high in other cases but its a good estimation.

how does adding the .40 give you 1000 hp?
say a 150 hp car
150(.40) + 10 + 150 = 220
(you were right when you said the .04 was incorrect)

because by his formula (when corrected) and my car you would do.....
140(.40*16)+10+150
140(6.4)+10+150
896+10+150
1056
thats how i got 1000HP. see it now?
either way his math is way flawed or he got a whole lot of wording wrong

hypsy reread what he said, .40 is for 10 lbs of boost...
40% per 10 lbs would be 4% per lb. so 16 lbs * 4% = .64
so your 16 lbs of boost on a 140 hp motor using his formula is:
140 (.64) + 10 + 140 = 239.6
well either way its off...LOL. if i only gained 17HP from and extra 10PSI of boost then theres something seriously wrong. i mean hell...i gained 15HP from 1PSI according to my first dynos
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

damn so wait....im planning on running 10 psi....ur saying i would have 100-150 more hp....that cant be right

Cavgold96 wrote:damn so wait....im planning on running 10 psi....ur saying i would have 100-150 more hp....that cant be right
if you go by his formula with a 140 hp car with 10 lbs of boost you would gain: 66 hp
140 (.40) + 10 + 140 = 206
Cavgold96 wrote:damn so wait....im planning on running 10 psi....ur saying i would have 100-150 more hp....that cant be right
if you tried his formula the only way you would gain 100 hp with 10 lbs of boost is if you started with a 225 hp:
225 (.40) + 10 + 225 = 325 hp for a gain of 100 hp
the only way you would gain 150 hp with 10 lbs of boost is if you started with a 227 hp:
350 (.40) + 10 + 350 = 500 hp for a gain of 150 hp
(this isn't my formula)

damn it, i need an edit button.
for a gain of 150 hp with 10 lbs of boost using his formula you need 350 hp already:
350 (.40) + 10 + 350 = 500 hp for a gain of 150 hp

and that would be 100......
so that means between 100-150 hp from 10psi

i personally made 222HP on 6PSI boost. this from about 120HP NA. it came out to 15.86HP/1PSI boost.
of course this is on an ecotec but its just an example

curious did you actually dyno your car stock at around 120?
I ask cause most stock ecotec dynos ive seen are for around 130's
208whp 239wtq
13.7 @ 102mph 2.19 60'

I'm pretty sure he did.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
i wanna have 230 or so out of my 96 2.2 auto ......
10 psi t3...ported head, manifold, walbro 255 intank fuel pump, FMU,FPR, 2.5 exhaust ,highflow cat, EIC and 2 480 cc injectors in the charge pipe
gonna dyno it and get it protuned.......wont be done till spring.....right when the tracks open back up

yes i did. it made 127.2HP and 132.8 lb/ft. its just a little easier to go with the lower number for believability. you can redo the math with those numbers if you want.
