TC questions

Hello, I'm a noob to the boost forum, but not a complete stranger to boost applications, how they work, or hoe they are set up. I'm thinking of putting a TC system on an ecotec I'm rebuilding and swapping later on.

A friend at work has a brand new turbo for a Grand National, that he would give to me.
I'm not sure exactly what model it is yet, but it has this type of exhaust housing inlet design:

Would it be posssible to modify this ecotec exhaust manifold:

to allow the turbo to bolt on? Or modify the exhaust housing on the turbo?

Or do you think the 2.0sc exhaust manifold:

Would be a better idea?

I would rather get a free turbo and make it work. One less part I would have to buy.

I've heard some not so good things about those 3 bolt designs

Getting someone to modify the turbo manifold wouldn't be too difficult as long as you had a flange to do use. The difficult part would be, would it fit between the motor and firewall?

that last link isnt the 2.0 sc manifold

your best to use a manifold designed for turbo use

If it's not what about the 2.0 sc manifold? It is a 3 bolt design.

What bad things have you heard about the 3 bolt TCs?
