i have a wet nitrous kit in my garage and i was thinking of putting it on the car with a 50 shot .i have a turbo on the car right now with 6 lb non intercooled with 270cc inj and a boost dependant afpr at 35lb . the engine should be able to take that wouldnt you think ? oh its a 99 2200 with 88000 mile on it with some head work done .
13's or blowning it. one way or the other!
eh, I dunno...maybe on an intercooled setup...don't know enough about non-intercooled setups to help you much. If you don't care if you blow the motor, go for it! maybe set a new record for 2200's with stock internals
Might also have a good blew it up at the track story
IF you decide to give her a run, at least take it to the track so you can say well I ran 13 somethin before she blew instead of just tellin everyone how fast you are
eh that might be pushing it. how many miles are on it?
**changes are here**
come on guys i think it will hold i've heard of guys here running a 100 shot of nitrous on stock internals and being fine i figure that with 6 lb of boost is about40-50 extra hp and a 50 shot wet is 43-50 hp for a total of maybe 100 extra hp . but not all the time of course. do you agree?

its up to you..they've told you what they think you're probably going to be pushing it and probably will blow its your choice on what to do
there has been people that have gotten away with 15 psi on stock internals. but they have actually went out and had the proper tuning done.
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
if it was intercooled, and tuned well, I wouldn't second guess it...but being non intercooled, it can't be tuned very well, intake temps won't be very cool, I wouldn't risk a motor on it myself...
You'll probably be ok for short bursts. Non ic'd cars tend to overfuel as intake temps increase. Addition of nitrous will bring intake temp back down slightly, and already rich engine will help with possible detonation. I'd drop the boost settings and try nitrous there before trying at 6psi. Get a wideband, or do lots of plug reading early on.
Have you considered using alky instead of gasoline with the nitrous kit? You'll have on demand intake charge cooling and improved detonation resistance.

Being intercooled or not won't matter when you spraying in nitrous that is 170 degrees below zero.
One thing you'll need to kep an eye on is your boost gauge. Nitrous creates an extreme amount of exhaust energy and it may be more than your wastegate can handle causing the boost pressure to jump.

some can do it on stock internals, some can't. it just depends on how the motor was broken in. and you better have your fuel system ready for it. i would definitely intercool your boost setup though, i just see it to be a better idea for your charge temp. and yes he is right, watch your boost, you might get boost creep once you start spraying.

i figure its only going to be putting out about 220-230 crank hp with the 50 shot ? the stock pistons should hold that ? wouldnt you think ? it has the walbro 255 pump so im not worried about the fuel system keeping up .also has the afpr , and probably before i set it up ill hook up my safc . but a egt would be a good idea. thanks for your input but i got to try it .LOL !

eh. i wouldnt do it. kinda risky.

it's not the pistons, it's the rods, and no they won't hold that. you have a good supporting fuel pump and fpr, but how about injectors? tuning? what plugs?

Im nervous about even putting a 35shot with the 6PSI RSM kit, and im on an ecotec... dont think i would do a 50 shot + 6psi on a 2200

sell the nitrous kit, buy an intercooler and turn up the boost some.

I've seen 8psi and a 75 shot on a stock 2.4 make plenty of runs with no problems.

My motor has run plenty fine on 12-14 psi so far...
My i@!#$zu tranny tho.... that's a different story...
As said above - if it holds together it'll be a fun few seconds.

thanks guys and i agree if it holds it will be a fun few seconds . and as far as the injectors they are rc 270cc and the plugs are ngk #6, and some tuning at the shop i work at . there is a group of guys there who track race nationally thier bmws.

it's allll about how the motor was broken in guys. those of you who are running 12 - 14 psi on stock internals, proper fuel mods, and good tuning. props to you. your motor was broke in, then run hard and the rings were seated like the motor would be run on down the road. a motor broken in, then run softly, won't take that abuse.

Heh then i think mine was broken in properly... It went through so many dealerships before i got it it had 250 miles on it when i took delivery, then i drove it easy until 500 miles and got into it a couple times a week... then once it hit around 800 miles it has been redlined at least 1 time daily (i say that as a understatement...) i dog the **** out of my car.
