ok I wired my knock gauge in a while ago but i am not sure if i put it in the right place... because people say on the GM s/c you get knock using the 2.6" pulley... so i tested it out today.. i put my 2.6" pulley on and no knock what so ever on my gauge. But the thing is, right when i start out and the intake temps are still cool i get HUGE amounts of boost and it slowly starts to fade down to like 6psi max by the time the engine is fully warmed up.
the knock sensor is a 2 wire sensor in the back side of the block , near the trans , kinda under the coolant bypass pipe
ahaha ok thanks... ahah its defiantly not in the right place right now....

as he said and it is black, with a long covered cord (sort of).
FU Tuning
found a pic of my motor , you can see the knock sensor just behind the pipe to the left of the block

humm maybe i did have it on the right line.... does it come up and clip in to somthing right up by the one oil presure sensor? or kind of by the cams?
yeah thats where alot of the wiring goes in at
ok then its cliped in the right spot.... im just not seeing any knock yet... but i thought even if you hit the block with a hammer or somthing it would spike a bit and show up as knock? cuz it doesnt even do that...
i know i get knock with my 00 , and its n/a
but im using the areo force scan gauge , and it reads the info straight from the pcm , it usually shows up more on part throttle than wide open , and more so with our temps outside right now 110+
yea i thought i would be getting knock since it was 30 degree out here the other day when i was driving. hum maybe i should trying wireing it straight into the PCM... think that might work better?
what gauge are you using ??
and is it for the older knock sensor , that is 1 wire
or the 1 for a 2 wire knock sensor ?
I have the knock gauge from Caspers....
you see alot of the Grand Nationals with them... thats where i got the idea.. and they have them for the Jbodies too
check with caspers and see if it will work for the 2 wire knock sensor GM used
last i rememebr they only worked for the wire sensors
alright.. well i emailed them.. so hopfully soon ill have a responce
