Hey everyone I just got done doing some searching and I learned more about internal wastegates...

So heres the deal I have a custom turbo setup on my grand am and today I was taking off the turbo to get the manifold off (which is nasty, the setup was done before i bought the car). Anyways I noticed that the wastegate actuator was holding the flapper all the way open (which would explain why I wasn't seeing any boost). It does have a threaded adjustment on it... it seems anyways. I noticed that its impossible to move the actuator at all by hand.. is it supposed to be like that?

I do have a turboXS boost controller hooked up to the actuator... should I just buy a new wastegate actuator? I can afford it and it may not be a bad idea... I have a garrett t3/t4 turbo on the car. Or should I adjust the threads on mine? I have no idea what psi it was before... so any help is appreciated.

I cannot move my internal wastegate in and out with my hands... maybe just a hair.

Also, the wastegate should be holdin the flapper closed-- You'll have to unhook the actuator arm from the flapper, let it close and hook it back up..

The arm will have to be screwed in a little bit, and use the jamnut to lock it into place. I was told to adjust the arm just so its a hair away from the flapper, and you can pull it out just a little bit to slip it over the flapper arm..

I wish I knew what the flapper was actually called.

The flapper is the swingvalve as far as I know...
