Fooling the Emissions

I know alot of boosted guys on Ecotecs would love to hollow the cats out but dont because we dont have a mil eliminator.

I saw a post the other day of a guy removing the 02 sensor from the exhaust but leaving it plugged in, just zip tying it to the heat shield and plugging the exhaust.

I did this last night, cleared the codes and have drivin 50 miles so far with this setup and no MIL light so far! This is also been through 3 warm up cycles and no problems.

Im going to drive it for 2 more days before i make a sure statement that this works, but if it does im going to reroute the 02 sensor and mount it to the firewall so its no exposed to the elements.

Im suprised noone has figured this out as im assuming this works on all other cars.

I was getting a check engine light from a bad 02 a while ago.

I put an 02 simulator onthe car and its gone.

The high-flow cat we put on the car was alittle big which confused the sensor.

Well it came back... I have the RSM programming too (RSM Stage 1 ECO kit)

All that happened was your code was cleared, give it a few days and it will light up again if it was on before. When the PCM loses power for 10 minutes or more (or is reprogrammed) all of the DTC's are cleared. So yea the 02 sensor is going back in.... im just going to get a stock downpipe and put it in 2 weeks before i go for emissions, clear the code and hope that the p1000 code is out of the system by the time i get there.
