o2 sensor problem

hey guys I have a code for o2 sensor malfunction sensor 1 bank 1. I don't have a cat but shouldn't sensor number 2 go off for that? This problem started when I installed my turbo, the air fuel gauge also stopped working at this time. It works when I first turn my car on in the morning then after a while it just sits in the middle. Has anyone had this problem before?

Sounds like you have a bad primary O2 sensor... have you tried replacing it?

No, water destroys it, as do many chemicals including diesel fuel. The sensor is cheap ($25) so I'd just replace it. Yes the first one is the primary sensor.

you should have known it was your primary considering your code for number one sensor + air fuel ratio gauge stopped working. put two and two together. and if you don't have a cat, are you running an o2 sim on your rear sensor? or how are you not throwing a CEL?

those sims are over rated you just put the sensor in anyway and nothing happens. One of my buddies has no cat in his truck and it dosen't throw a code either. Thanks for all the help guys.

running no cat would have nothing to do with the code your getting , you need to replace the sensor on your exhaust manifold
