I was curious if anyone else has had the same problem I'm currently having. I am running an Autometer Ultra-lite Full Sweep Electric vacuum/boost gauge and it is actually off by about 4-5 psi compared to a mechanical gauge that is taking a reading from the same exact port (on the intake manifold). The Mechanical gauge shows more pressure (4-5psi more) than the electric one. I have verified this with multiple mechanical gauges. I have called autometer and they are going to send me a new MAP sensor for the gauge. That is the only thing I can think that is causing this. All the wiring is properly connected and the gauge calibrates itself every startup. This really messed me up because I thought I was running about 8 psi when I was really running 12. It was fun while it lasted though.
Just curious if anyone else experienced this?
my cobalt gauge , seamed to do something similar , when i first started the car the vacuum read normal , then once i hit boost it didnt seam to read right , and then the vacuum read lower than it should be
and now that i dont have the turbo on it i havent had any gauge issues , unless i crank it while its doing its test cycle
Maybe the guages need a power source that is on with ignition and crank. if you have it on a regular ignition-on power source you may be resetting them again once ya start to crank and it re calibrates wrong. just a thought

Thanks for the replies. Roscoe that is a smart thought but I double checked and I have it on a power source that is on with ignition and crank. That is also the first thing Autometer told me to check. My new MAP sensor should be here in a few days, hopefully that is the problem. If that doesn't fix it I might ask them If I can swap mine for a mechanical gauge.
i trust the mechanical only

Mechanical only. It can not be wrong if its hooked up properly with no leaks. Oil pressure guage electrical maybe. But boost no way.
