Hey,whats up?
I finally got my car dynoed today.I think i picked a bad day to do it because it was 95 degrees out.Anyway, the runs were at 6 psi and it was only taken up to 5500 rpm.First run the car was running pig rich and put down 151 hp.After pulling alot fuel with the s-afc,it put down 181 hp.Im kind of dissapointed because i wanted to hit atleast 200hp.I have a feeling the cat may be partially clogged from running too rich.Think thats possible? The only thing thats throwing me off is the torque readings.Youll see when i post up the sheets.

Thanks.I think with some more tuning it should put out some better numbers.heres the air/fuel chart. Its still running very rich down low.

And here is the other chart. They said the bottlom line is the torque? It dont seem right. My car cant be making only 97 ft/lbs of torque.

Hey Peter use the dyno run as a guide only. When I ran mine it was so far off that it was next to useless. But it is good to tune on the dyno and get your AFR perfect.
Thats Him Officer The WICKED One.
What the heck is that chart? I have never heard of a dyno chart that shows mph instead of rpm? Well to make 181hp at 5500 rpm it takes 173 Lbs of torque. I would find another place to dyno.
"Fu'k displacement, I'd rather be blown."
damn i thought a vortech supercharger would make more... if that is what they run then its the same as the GM supercharger.. actually less then... as i have seen dyno's for 195 or 198hp with just the the GM supercharger on a basically stock engine... either way tune it a bit and i am sure thoughs numbers will jump. and if your still on the stock exhaust get your self a nice 2.5" header back put on at your local exhaust shop. I personally felt the gains from going with with the 2.5"
I know the car is capable of alot more. While im kind of upset about the horsepower numbers,i am happy that i got my air/fuel ratio adjusted.Im gonna wait for the weather too cool down before i run it again. You cant expect too much hp in 95 degree weather and 85 percent humidity. My car runs like a pig in this weather, and im sure all you s/c guys will say the same thing. When its cool outside,i hit 8-8.5 psi. When its hot as hell,i barely hit 6.Theres a couple of things i have to fix on the car before i dyno it again.I have to get a screw in iat sensor to put in my charge pipe. The sensor is just hanging in the engine bay right now.Do you think that will make a difference? And i also have a slight hesitation when im taking off from a stop. When i release the clutch and give it gas to take off,the car wants to stall for a split second, then it takes off normal.I have no clue whats causing that.I think my throttle plate and tps voltgage has something to do with it because i was messing with the idle screw the other day.

yea thats screwing up your timing if its not plugged in, yea looks like you need some maintaince there, also replace your fuel filter if its been on there longer than 30k

Sounds like tuning issues. I would take the cat off as well;.

Ive been wanting to take mine back to the dyno with the speed sensor disconnected.... Yea and i def know what your talking about, tonight was the coolest its been since i had my new belt on and i finally hit 6psi... but during the day 5 is the farthest it will go.... Wish i had 8psi to play with lol.

yea me too, 5 just is like a taste of the real thing but not really satisfying only makes me hungry for more, I hope that with the EGR thing shaved on the head RSM can give us a option to go to a bigger pulley housing to get some more boost

Yeah,i know the iat screws with the timing.I wonder how bad the timing was off.All the maintenance is up to date. The day before the dyno i changed the oil,and spark plugs.Im thinking about taking the cat off when i run the car again. The cat might be messed up from running so rich for so long. And i have to change the belt. Its so stretched out that its practically rubbing against itself with the tension pulley all the way down.Ben,just do the run in 3rd gear.Theres no sense unplugging the speed sensor to do the run in 4th gear.Theres gonna be very little difference in power.Atleast my a/f numbers are getting better.Heres an old dyno from last year.By looking at that a/f ratio, you would think my motor would be blown by now.

I would watch out with unpluging the speed sensor, Suncavi had a problem with his turbo set-up when he did that. You might want to consider doing the overide, to avoid that.
As for dynoing in 3, or 4 gear, I have always been told 4 gear is the better gear to do it in. In any of my J's I have had it was always done in 4 gear. most shops prefer 4 gear.
