is it possable to have an functional intercooler without the turbo. buy this statement im asking if you have a intercooler hooked up will you still get a small amout of preformance with out the turbo

No, just think about it. There is nothing pushing the air through it. Ya the engine sucks in air but its not sucking it in as a turbo would be pushing it in. At least this is how I see it. Get a cold air intake.

the main idea to an intercooler is cooling, you wont significantly raise your intake air temps with no turbo

^ exactly.

The reason you get an intercooler is to cool the air... uncompressed air is the same temp as all the other air around... but when you compress it, it heats up. If you don't use an intercooler... you're stuffing hot air into the engine.

There really isn't a point in trying to intercool a N/A engine.

Actually, I would think your throttle responce would be crappy becuase of the extra restriction. You would get negitive presure from the TB to the IC. With the air moving slower, it would heat up. Therefore, decreasing power.

im not looking at boost right now i was just asking cuz a friend of mine said that you can do that.. but i didnt think it was true so i decided to ask you guys...FYI i have a cold air intake already
