yeah jeff I think it might be worth your while NOW to take the red paint off the turbine housing. Its going to burn and smell like sh!t once it reaches temp..
and the fact that yours is harder to get to, due to it being so close to the firewall.. might be worth doing now.

its already in the car, Im droping the turbo back in tommorow or the next day so if you want to come take a look at how I mounted the IC and the piping around the horn get back to me, and that is hi temp paint, will it still not work?
the paint is good to 1200 degrees, is that not high enough? it says its for manifolds, how hot should the turbine be getting?
depending on how lean you're running, you could see 1600 degree temps

The paint will burn right off.
That turbine housing will probably see over 1200 degrees. I have my EGT probe in the exhaust manifold after the turbo....when cruising for a long time on the highway, my EGT gauge reads 1200. At wot my EGT gauge is reading 1200.
