I will be installing an intercooled RSM blower in the next couple of weeks on my '00 Grand Am (2.4L w/ auto tranny) and will be using the 2bar map and GM s/c reflash. A friend of mine works at a dealer, but we are not sure if we will need the VCI # or not. Should we just be able to take my car in and give them just the part number for the reflash and my VIN and get it done, or will we need the VCI#????
Either way, if anyone has the instruction manual from a newer GM s/c unit, could you give me the VCI# for the grand am auto? I was told it should be in the instructions. Also the part number for the reflash of the Grand Am auto. (i'm pretty sure it's different from the cavy reflash part number).
any help/pointers/info is appreciated.

No such thing, dispite what they tell you or whoever wants to argue. If they use any reflash it is the GMPP reflash.

I don't know where you got that information, but I guarentee you, its not the GMPP reflash. In fact the person who does the reflashes despises the GMPP reflash with a passion, and I personally know he would never put it on any of the cars he reflashes. There are reasons for that that I won't get into, but suffice it to say that I know for a FACT that there is definately a RSM reflash and it is NOT a stock or GMPP reflash.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
I will believe RSM can reflash our ECU's when i see it.

alright, not much help here so far, but from many more hours of searching, I have found that in order to reprogram the PCM, a new VCI number must be input. The dealer has to call TCSC to obtain it.
So, will TCSC have any way to know WHICH s/c I'm running? ie will they require us to give them a reciept number or serial number from the purchase of a GM s/c? Or do we just call 1-800-828-6860 tell them we are reflashing it for the GM s/c, then they will tell us what the VCI number is for the car and give a new one to show that we have the supercharger on the car?
Anyone who has the reflash please tell me what all they asked for when calling TCSC please.

All the dealer needs to do is call the 800 number, give them the part number, vehicle info, and they will give them the apropriat info for the reflash. Cake.
...... or find a 99+ GA with the S/C, and reflash your PCM with thier vin number.

RSM has a Tech 2 and plenty of cooperation from GM. Why shouldn't they be able to flash it?
I saw with my own eyes them reflash mine.
Yup I seen it too!

Craig waving a pencil around and saying "Hocus Pocus" doesn't count.
you mean snuggles dont you ??
ahahahahahaa
rsm will reflash the pcm for you , bad thing is you gotta send them the pcm to do it , and canada isnt close
forgot you gotta pay for it also
So how many people are using a RSM reflashed ECU to read boost to run a turbo set up?
Also, how car you see a reflash?
Those are both rhetorical questions....

Ouch. I suppose I have to deal with all these PCMs just for the fun of it?
While we have the GM code on file...we do not use it.
I dont know anything about any RSM reflash, im still closing my eyes from when they tried to flash me the 1st time.
