well 2200 rsm kit pretty much finished

so i bought the rsm 2200 supercharger off ebay i put it in got all i needed done now here are a few pointers to you guys

first off i had the 4 into one pacesetter header.... the pipe from cylinder two had to be dented a little for the shaft to fit

then the lower bracket had to have a notch grinded out of it and a couple of fins on the transmission had to be grinded off

the problem i have now is i think the supercharger needs an intercooler so first off to help the problem i am getting a cooltek oil cooler that i am going to attach right before the supercharger, also i am going to wrap my header to cool down my hood temps

the other problem is that if i leave the car in drive the shift from 1st to 2nd is very slow and painful so i have a b&m shift improver coing as well

anyone know where i can get an intercooler for this thing cause after like a run of two in a row the car loses alot of power

the other thing that totally sucks is the guy that sold me the kit didn't send me two of the bolts that connect the bottom of the shaft cover to the charger and the smaller bolts that clamp the the cover down. so that thing rattles like a mofo but it's all goodpeople pull up next to me like that thing is a peice of @!#$ and than that thing pulls past them =)

other than all that the car runs good. now i need to get that built short block from jbodyperformance.com and i am ready to go

If you rap your header it will void the warrenty. Just thought you should know.

Hows the power on it? What rpm does it spool at?

Get dyno #'s asap!!!

DO NOT WRAP the header , youll end up having to buy another 1 after it blows out

you might want to look at a few of the intercoolers that vortec sells from some of their kits , the might have 1 thats close enough for you to use

read guys the warrentee is void i had to dent the pipe to fit the charger
it is a temp thing until i buy the rsm coated header

it starts creating boost very low in the rpm at about 3000 rpm its at 5psi and by the time i am near red line it is at 8-10 psi depending on how nice it is out

my estimate on the power i am prolly running a 15.5 cause i was racing the hemi 1500 2 door pick up and i was pretty much tied with him. and that is the quarter on that truck..... but i was tieing him while i auto sticked my car

I hate to say it but you installed your kit incorrectly.

seriosuly though... I would deffinately not be happy with a 15.5 or anything around it with as much as that charger costs. A 2.4 swap and some bolt-ons or a cheap nitrrous set-up could have put you higher for less money.

i bought the charger used and there for cheaper

i did not install the kit incorrectly bobby from rsm said most of the 4-1 pacesetter headers will fit it but they are not built consistantly and some wont fit

so i hate to say it but you dont know what your talking about

the kit was installed the right way and fits perfect

When you said you modified the lower bracket, I am assuming that you modified the charger bracket that bolts to the transmission. Also, you shouldn't have had to grind fins off the transmission.

Get a couple pics of the install.

I think you'll do alittle better than a 15.5! 8-10psi up top! That's good for what 80hp!

I'm a basically stock 2200 with a few bolt-ons and without nitrous i hit a 15.7 lowest and 15.8s the rest of that night! So in all reality I only have about 125hp to the wheels if that much, and I got those times! You have atleast high 170s to mid 180s, which should be good for high 14s with an auto! I'd think atleast! Anybody correct if I'm wrong!

N2O + Bolt-ons = 220Hp/250Tq

I hit a 15.5 when I was running 4psi on my turbo 2.2l. Of course it had an exhaust leak too and it was pretty hot outside if I rmember correctly. So running 8-10psi supercharged(less lag) you should run better than a 15.5. Probably closer to a 15.0 or better.

well the biggest problem is the shifting and of course the fact i need an intercooler

i am going to make a personal intercooler kit with tons of reinforced 3in hose and elbows and a junk yard intercooler

but if i leave it in drive it takes a second of two to change gears by it self

but the shift kit will fix that and the oil cooler i have coming will help with the s/c temps and i should be getting started on the intercooler some time in the next two weeks

also i have a fresh set of tires coming that will help to since my peerless hr's are spentand nearing bald

You should run with the tranny in full auto to see what the difference in times is. Also, if it takes that long for your tranny to shift, I think you might be needing a new one.

ohhhh boy..

i know... but if you are shifting a car manually, you should have a guage, aftermarket, to monitor your fluid temp.

operating range is 175-195 and i can almost garuntee you are going over that which can damage the transmission.

adding a shift plus will also raise line pressure, which will create more heat.... more heat will do damamge.
