Which cat with turbo?
Wednesday, May 18, 2005 2:56 PM
I will be running 2.5" with my turbo setup i'm going to be buying. Which part number cat will be long enough to make my o2 sensor not throw a code...any? or would my best bet be to get an o2 sim and try to find someone to pass my emissions?

The only difference between a "high flow" cat and your cat is the diamater of the pipe going in and out.

It shouldn't be raspy with the turbo.

Even at 1 psi no cat at all is best.

basically a boost-senstive electric cutout? i'd think it'd be louder... however wouldn't some exhaust flow still be directed out of the stock exhaust?

^^ its not electric at all, purley actuated by boost.

think wastegate, but for your entire exhaust system. My buddy has it on his 1.8T beetle.

but yea no cat with turbo

if youw ant, get a high flow cat, then just put a pipe thru it so it looks like a cat, but is in fact a straight pipe.

Run a cat simulator, and ur scott free

ull pass visual, and the computer hook up. Drive home laughing

yes i know its non electric. it's just a similar concept to the electric cutouts. my best friend and i are busy turboing his 4 door civic.... and i'm going to make sure he does this instead of an electric cutout.
