Hey guys,
Whenever I post in this forum in regards to my turbo setup I barely get any response.....either because it's never been attempted or attempted and failed and everyones given up hope, but here it goes anyway. I have an 03' sunfire and I recently got myself a turbo and manifold setup off a 9-3 Saab. I got everything I need except the downpipe, now I can chose to go with stock which i believe is 2.5" or I can go with 3".....my question is has anyone attempted this setup and if so will I experience fitment issues if I go with 3" which is a direct bolt on to the 9-3. My car will be lowered so the exhaust scrapping the ground is what I'm worried about.
Let me know.....
my bad...I meant the stock downpipe on the Saab 9-3 is about 2.5" at least that's what I'm being told by the saab owner whose selling me the downpipe. So I guess 2.5" it is.
Thanks
why would u say that....I mean obviously the stock DP off the saab will not directly bolt up to our cars but thats nothing a exhaust shop can't handle.
yeah I was a feeling it's gonna be that way. So you think I'd be better off getting a flang and having a downpipe welded on it?
Shifted, would this flange work...
Flange
.....assuming I was to weld a pipe to it and then make a U bend and feed down and through to the cat. And if so is there a gasket or something that I'd need to go in between the flange and turbo.
I appreciate your input on this one man.
Thanks
As long as the turbo you have looks like the two housings in the pic on that auction, it should work. I'm really not sure if it needs a gasket or not, if it does, you should be able to get the gasket at any SAAB dealer since it would use the stock exhaust gasket.
