this looks like a good kit.
I was curious how much HP gain can i expect? I've heard
you can get 40 hp, Is that at the wheel or at the crank? Can you get
more HP by changing the pulley? How much is it to get such
improvements? After installing this kit you need your car tuned by a
GM technition, can I install this kit myself and drive it 3 miles to
the dealer and have this done or would i need them to install the
whole thing?
all they do is reflash your pcm they tune nothing

I think GM under rated the hp gains a bit... i know people have posted close to 200hp at the wheels with just the supercharger at stock 4.5psi, full exhaust and header......
Yes you can get more hp with changing the pulley but you can only get the one size down (2.7" pulley, about 6.5psi) , then you have to add Water or Alcohol Injection other wise the supercharger gets to hot and you get detonation or knock in your engine and the computer backs down the timing and you wont see any more hp increases.
Yes you can put the kit in your self and drive it to the dealership but you have to (or should) zip tie the bypass valve open so your car will not see boost.. And all they do is reprogram your computer. I would say just install the kit and pay the $80-100 to have it towed to the dealer ship because for one its a bitch to get at the by pass valve to untie it when the supercharger is on the car, and two it runs like crap before you get it reprogrammed (like it will die on you very very easy)
hmm, i dont know what i did, but when i drove it half a mile home from where i put in on, it never died, it acted like the throttle was pressed the whole time. like reved way too high, i had to stay on the brakes the whole time. i even had to shut it off twice because it wouldnt stop reving. oh well, it works now, been working for about 3 months hehe. once you get it, you'll love it trust me

how much for the alcohol and water injection?
I've heard about it but not really sure what is altered by it.
did your MPG drop with the blower? I'm getting an 02 Z24 4 door auto this week and I'll order the Sc kit. Is it hard to switch from the 2.8" to the 2.7" pulley? because I would do it before putting it on so I can have more power as soon as I put it on.
I just can't wait untill tuesday. I should ahve it by then(the car) and have the Sc a few days later.

about $400cdn i think... alkycontrol has kits that are made for the GTP with the supercharger on so they have a set up that works with the Eaton superchargers, i would suggest going with them here is a link to their page...
Alkycontrol
there is also SMC kits, that i have personally used on our 87 Buick GNX and have ran 30psi of boost on the turbo with this kit and it works very well.. here is their web page....
SMC kit
and here is a do it your self kit:
Do it your self water injection

mine dropped a fair bit... i use to get about 480-530km's per tank of gas and now i only get 400-420km's a tank... i have not used it on the high way yet so i don't know what numbers you would see there (all the numbers above are in city driving, and i have a heavy foot at times
) Also if you get the Pulley Boys quick change pulley, you can change your pulleys very easy but you can only go 1 size down from stock before you need the Alcohol or water injection... here is a link to the site where the pulleys are sold
Quick Change pulleys, they are meant for the M90 Superchargers on the Grand Prix GTP's but every one is using them for their M45 superchargers on their Jbodies
hope that answerd some of your guy's questions...
but Gm has some smaller pulley right? how hard is it to take off the original pulley on the Sc and put in the new one without the quick change?
I saw the pulley puller but is it hard to put the new one on?
Thanks Freebs
I do have a lead foot to but since I'm driving a 3spd 2.2, I've learn that it's just a waste to push more if you are not racing on the track. I'm just wasting more gas.

wat are the recomended mods with the s/c?? i plan on doing a pacecetter header and a rsm 62mmTB. if i ran an alcohol injection kit like in the link above, could i run a 2.4-2.5 pulley with no problems? is it recomended that i get a FPR an or maybe a SAFC?
im buying one in a couple weeks, i appreciate the help guys, im new to boost..damn excited too
FS: Pioneer AVH-P6600DVD 6.5" flip-out, touch screen, dvd!! asking 750 shipped!
Wait I'm alittle confused.
did u guys say u can run the 2.7" pulley without the water injection.
Or do you need injection with the it.
(sry for the backtrack but just wanna be sure.)
ok ill try to answer all the questions as to the best of my knowledge and if Mr. Pute sees this please add any thing i have missed as i know you know your stuff
Mfk-223 - To pull off the stock GM s/c pulley its a bitch to do... you will more then likely end up messing it up but i don't know if your ever going to use it again... And for the new one don't get the Embree one it is not only more money but it is just as hard to get on and off as the stock one...
illd9p - Recommended mods would be kind of up to you... I suggest 62mm Throttle body, intake (you can make it your self with a 90degree elbow and a 8inch tube and a K&N filter), header (you want one with the longest primary tubes) and a full 2.5" exhaust. I know some one has used the 2.5" pulley and i know his engine blew up and i cant remember if he didn't have the alcohol running or what... but i would not suggest going to the 2.4" pulley... unless you really build up your engines internals... You will for sure need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and i suggest getting if you get any smaller then the stock 2.8" pulley. Just remember the s/c loves to breath, so the more fresh cool air you can get to it the better.
Adam Szeliga - 2.7" you can run with out the water or alcohol injection... but after that, the air/charge gets to hot and will cause knock in your engine, and your computer will back down the timing and you will not see any increase in horse power...
hum, I'll keep the 2.8" first since I still have 25000km of warranty on the engine and trans.

Guess i underestimated the pulley.
What exactly do you have to do to take it off?
Could I lathe down the 2.8" pulley to 2.7" and reinstall it?

what steps do you have to take to remove it?

Ahh damn i wished i lived closer to sea level... i would need alot of other parts to make 205hp with only 4.5psi at the elevation i am at

This Wed I am scheduled for a dyno run. 3 runs actually. So far I have dynoed 136HP with just a K&N drop in filter when I was N/A.
Now S/Ced
First run will be with K&N
Second run will be stock filter
Third run will be with a cat-back. (later date)
On each one I will see if I get an improvement. I will see how much this S/C helped.
I'll keep you posted.
Not to high jack the thread.
BTW, where is a good place to get a tach signal so I can get a graph and torque numbers this time.

Thanks for the update goodwrench.
I'll be lookin foreward to see the imporvements.
oO one more thing what size exhaust are you going to test on it?
I would say you should get a 2.5" exhaust all the way back.. i know some one with the GM supercharger with the Billz/stanz header/cat back which is 2.5" and he loves it... showed good power gains.
Supercharged 2.4L
Adam,
I'll have the exhaust detailed out on the day that I post the numbers and hopefully with a graph.
All I need to know right now is:

^ clamp all of the wires going to the IDI cover. at least that is what worked on my 2.4 back in the day. Good luck and keep us updated.
chris- i am going to try to beat that # on the stock s/c pulley and no reflash. I just got to get some minor work done one of these days. I am checking out another dyno in my area with a buddy this week.
