injector question
Friday, May 13, 2005 4:48 AM
i have heard that some ford mustang injectors will work with the 2.2 2200 engine

what years? what engines have the injectors that i can use? how many pounds are they?

i need to get something from the junk yard for temp use for a couple of days

will these just plug right in? if now what wires match up from the ford plug to which wires in my 2000 chevy cavalier 2200

first you need to figure out what horsepower level you are looking to make, and then plan the fuel supply adequately. Here is a nice chart of injector sizes based on horsepower. below horsepower is injector sizes in # (cc)

150 horserpower
18 (189)

200 horsepower
24 (252)

250 horsepower
29 (305)

300 horsepower
35 (368)

350 horsepower
41 (431)

Ford Red Tops will work best for you, since they are high impedance already, and 30lb/hr. You will need to get the injector clips from a ford (almost any ford), or you can use the injector clips from a 96-99 2.4L.
