I had a bit of a problem with my fuel setup this past month with my turbo setup for my non-intercooled turbo running at 5 PSI.
I was currently running GMSC injectors (310cc) cartech FMU, adj. FPR, intank walbro 255 and was getting a 12.0:1 at the start up in boost at WOT then it would climb to 14.7:1 -15 after around 4,000 RPMs =( not good..i was stumped...
So after eliminating what could be the problem..i thought maybe to switch out the injectors..instead of the gmsc ones..i went with ford red tops..30lb.
Today i went and put it on the wideband and low and behold!! it didnt lean out! wooot! i started off in high 12's and it climbed a little in 13's so i turned the FMU up a bit...it got better ..so i just maxed it out...and it put me around high 11's then gets to about low 12's almost redline =) im happy now .
I dont understand why the gm injectors wouldnt carry the load?? it really baffles me to think that those are almost the same size injectors yet they tend to lean out..maybe gmsc injectors arnt 310 cc?? ahh well...
I will be intercooled in the next 3 months and maybe have my exhaust done and running 7 PSI..might actually need bigger injectors =( or maybe a SAFC..only time will tell -)
Congrats on the sucess. Now that your a pro come install all my stuff.
i am selling an rx-7 intercooler if you are interested, 30 bucks shipped.
got pic? im looking for one that will take up my whole front bumper like the johnny racecar ones..27 inches i think ....or something close to that.
oh its not like a jrc, its a top mount
oh i c..well $30.00 is a awesome price but im gonna have to bow out..im looking for a FMIC =) thanks anyways.

Glad to hear you have it worked out. Once you get intercooler, you should not need as much fuel, and you will get a lot more power out of that 5 psi you are currently running.

im assuming so also John, im plan on puting a whole new exhaust setup first tho instead of intercooling it right now. I dont even have a flex pipe on it yet...so gota get that done when i get back from Florida for my Honey moon =) Ill also be driving this car from Michigan to Florida too =)
wonder if the fmu was causing the injectors to clip from excessive pressure
thats what i was thinking...maybe the gmsc injectors can only support around 60 PSI like the HO injectors. maybe then they start to clip at that rate...
What fuel pressure are you running at the rail under wot?
i duno....ive only ran it with a fuel gauge on it once and that was befor i had the intank pump and still had the gmsc injectors and it was stoping at 75 PSI becuase of my stock fuel pump....
as far as now i dont know for sure...its gota be up there tho becuase the FMU is pretty much tightend all the way....near 100 PSI maybe maybe more ....its keeping me rich and untill i get a SAFC to controll some of the injector by electronicly instead of pressure..its gonna stay that way.
