fuel and such

just have some quick questions...
i plan to run 250hp and later on at most running 300hp on my eco. i just want to know if i could get away with 370cc injectors with just a safcII.
-what ignition system do i need (msd brand)
-run the bov press. back into the intake or not.
-is it fine to have a fuel press. gauge in the eng. bay or in the car ($30 or $200lol)
-do i need a fpr or not.
-do you guys ever vent the wastegate out into the air and not into the downpipe.

thats all i can think of right now
THANKS!

370cc injectors and only an safcII would make idling a bit of a trick. You'd probably be running fairly rich at idle unless you were using some sort of an FMU to reduce the fuel pressure to useable levels at idle.

Ignition is your choice, something with a boost-dependant retard is preferential, but you have to figure out how to use it with the Eco.

The BOV isn't really a big deal. I blow off to atmosphere (and run the stock MAF in my 95 Talon), and I only get a mild rich bog when I blow off. It'll run rich for about half a second after you blow off, but it works fine for me.

A fuel pressure gauge is pretty much just for show in this application. You should have your car properly tuned at a shop, so the fuel gauge would be more of a toy than a tuning tool, but it is handy to help diagnose problems down the road. It's also pretty much useless under the hood unless you're only setting it at idle. You can't load your engine down (ie drive) without a dyno and be able to see the gauge. If you REALLY want to be able to see your fuel pressure under load, you should be willing to put it in the passenger compartment with an isolator kit on a mechanical gauge, or an electronic gauge.

For the FPR, you could just run an FMU, which allows you to increase your fuel rail pressure under boost if your injectors can't quite keep up. Whether you need one or not depends on the rest of your mods.

Venting the wastegate to the atmosphere rather than the pipe is bad manners as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't go through your cat (if you keep it), it blows exhaust under the front of your car (with soot and toxic gasses that can get into the passenger compartment), and it can be a bit loud. That's a question of taste, but if you're not experiencing boost creep, I would just go with an internally wastegated turbo and forget about it.

Most of that is just my opinion, so of course, you're welcome to do it whatever way you wish. Good luck!

ecotecs dont have MAF sensors to monitor intake airflow, they use MAP sensors to monitor air pressure in the manifold. so you wont run rich at all when venting to the atmosphere. its only a question sound. you want to hear the psssshhhhh sound? vent to atmosphere. you want as little sound as possible? recirculate to intake.

as for ignition try the MSD DIS-2 with boost retard.
