anyone got a set of these installed yet? i remember from a post a while ago that a few people were getting them but i don't think anyone had them installed yet.
Well I went to install mine today and am having some issues, first our injector clips that hold the injectors to the rail didn't fit right on them, so i had to modify the grove for the clip to get them to fit. then i get them installed and when you put them in the head they sit just a little bit farther down than the stock injectors, so the bolts for the fuel rail won't go in because there about half a hole out now. if i line the holes for the fuel rail up then the o-rings on the injectors are just barly in the head and i realy doubt they will seal that way.. so i realy don't know what to do, gonna have to figure out a way to modify the fuel rail to make it sit just a little lower.....
oh and i know people wanted to know what wiring harnesses would work with these injectors, i got some off early 90's escort at a local wrecker and they work.
I've found that just about all ford's use the same clips, you can get some replacement clips from the dealer for $12 each (each clip). They are not genuine ford parts, but they clip on.
I'm not sure why you're injectors are that much smaller, I've never heard of anybody having height fitment issues with the brown or red tops.

ya thats why i was wondering, never heard of a problem with the red or brown tops, i figured the green tops would be the same, but i have never seen anyone else running them either
i installed the red tops the other day and did you sure you used the top groove on the injector to clip it? if you use the lower goroove for the injector to clip to..the injector will be too short. unclip it and pull the injector out a little and use the top groove for the clip to go in. Thats the only thing i can think of.
I run the green tops.
Not sure why you are having problems...
All I did was take my stock injector clips, slid them on the injector, hooked them to the fuel rail and put the injectors in the head, bolted on and turned the key ON to pressurize the fuel system to check for leaks.
Dry as a bone and has been since I installed them.
They are a direct replacement, should not have to modify the grooves at all...

well i pulled them off and measured them beside the stock injectors, and they are a shorter than them. before i put them in last time i checked and the second grove on the green tops lines up with the grove on the stock injectors so i used the second grove...
took them out and tryed it in the first grove and they are fine now, they just dont sit quite as far into the fuel rail now, but should still seal fine
owww, green tops arent the same as brown tops????
bought mine on ebay, got 3 brown and 1 green.......the guy kept telling me they were all from the same engine, so i tought it would be ok........
i am running the bosch 42lb green tops yes they are shorter then my stock injectors so use the first slot at the top of the injector and it will work and i had to also change the harness for them to work other then that they work like a charm.
