hey guys,
i mounted the front mount yesterday "will be posting pic soon" and i am now ready to plumb the system. wow does it look like its gunna be a chore. i think im gunna have to remove the stock winshield washer fluid bottle, and do some cutting on the panssenger side. i have the rsm supercharger so its gunna be just as hard if not harder to route than a turbo would be. i know it can be done with a little time. my question is: where can i find some intercooler piping supplies at a decent price? i have been looking on ebay but things still seem EXTREMELY expensive. silicone seems outrageous. i was planning on making the entire piping out of exhaust tubing, but i was told that its not a good idea because its not fully aluminum and it retains too much heat. now my plan is too use aluminum tubing and then just have the angles made out of mandrel bent exhaust tubing which you can buy all different angles at the parts store. but however, i am hoping someone on here will have some good news for me and be able to tell me where i might be able to find some mandrel bent aluminum tubing and silicone couplers at a decent price. please let me know guys. i was also wondering, what is a common gain with front mounts? i have a 28"x6" intercooler. any help would be appreciated. thanks again guys....
you cant use straight pieces of aluminum and exhaust bends, the two cant be welded together, unless you are gonna join everything with couplers, but that just looks half assed IMO. And good silicone coplers arn't very cheap, I got mine from hightempsilicone.com, you can buy it by the foot and cut it in the lengths you need. i would also sugest you use t-bolt clamps on the couplers and not the worm gear type they will work much better. but again good stuff isn't cheap...
summit sells u- bends and 90's etc; at a good price..
