well what I am gonna do is have this guy who works with aluminum just get a piece of aluminum in like block form cut it down and weld it to my charge pipe and then screw it in, thing is I need the thread size..

so we're positive it's 3/8' npt?

who needs an IAT sensor? Not me

Me either. Mine just sits in the engine bay. No problems here.

i dont know how much it would benefit...but i dont like stuff half a$$..if it was meant to go in the air stream then im gonna make it go back in =) now for people not running a turbo charged engine..i dont see how it would really make a difference since the engine compartment air is really no different then the air in there CAI or WAI or stock air box. With forced induction..your air is obviosly higher in degrees so with it in the air stream it gives the computer to adjust to it when the hot forced air is going through. How much of a change or adjustment../shrug i just dont think on a Forced induction car you should have it dangling in your compartment.

well the iat temp tells the computer how lean or rich to make the a/f and adjusts timing from there

the same way that the iat mod doesnt do any thing leaving it out its not reading the correct intake air temp

Well, I bought the npt 3/8 nut and it fit onto the part number given in the beginning of this post, which had also bought. I have the nut mounted on my pipe, and the sensor threads all the way into the air stream, so, I'm sure its 3/8 npt.

Yeah! its deffenitly 3/8ths NPT =/ and if you plan on welding this into your charge pipe then you want a 3/8 ths NPT coupler. I was shown a coupler that has 2 sleeves on both ends with a nut in the middle. You could prob cut off one end and just weld the nut onto your charge pipe and screw in the IAT.

Also seen another type of coupler thats about 1 inch long 3/8th's npt with no hex nut in the middle..just a 1 inch long tube with threading thats best i can describe it. I was gonna use that and just cut it down shorter but then the salemen said let me see if i have a half inch one..and sure as sh!t he did..so it basicly looks like a metal bung with a taper 3/8 th's NPT....the hole sensor wont fit in it but it will do the trick (becuase its taper)....
