very nice man!!!

pvc part is the white part in the whole car shot, hard to see. it feels nice, very smooth pull. i don't have my 2 bar map sensor in yet so no good tune yet. i won't be going to the dyno i am tuning it my self with my wideband and emanage.

Looks good man, VERY junkyard turbo kit tho.

You have a lot of connectors there.... lots of possibility for the pipes blowing off or boost leaks... but you know that. I'm sure some of those pipes are temporary considering you want a better FMIC, etc.

Let us know what numbers you lay down.

ill race you lol....from the looks of the wiring your car will probably catch on fire- blowing it up allowing me to win

hehe i thought my set up was ghetto!!! DOH! nah man its al good..can your hood even close with that charge pipe hanging over your core support?!?! hehe anyways you just need some minor tuneing up on your parts and youll be all set..at least your intercooled unlike my setup =(

can we race?

eh, the lower stuff by the intercooler is pretty gross, but i've definitely seen MUCH worse setups than that at least years bash... I'm talking crush bent exhaust pipe for charge pipes with welds that had more carbon than metal.

Just a few things:
Clean up the wiring
Relocate the filter, if the heat back there is anything like it is on rich's car, you're really hurting yourself
Better intercooler, but you already knew that.

Are those charge pipe bead-rolled on the ends? If they aren't you might want to watch out for those blowing off if you decide to go higher boost.

I agree on the filter setup..mine is in the exact same spot but i plan on turning my 90 the other way around and pointing the filter down instead of up in the engine compartment. Heat rise's and that should help out alot! Also I dont think ill ever go through a puddle high enough to sumerge it...it would have to be a small 4 ft stream to hydro it ..=)

oh yeah, deekster that is a good idea, i am going to do that.

1.8t- yeah, most of those pipes are bead rolled, i have been running around for two days at 5psi, nothing is blowing, but i am upping the boost to 8 psi here soon.

QBE- what kind of fuel management are you running?

LoL... You told him you want to race. I'm sure Eric can just put the turbo back on his car that is just layin' on the ground in the garage and beat you, but he does have a point that the piping on the intercooler is just simply getto. I think if you moved the battery it might of been a lot easier to run a cleaner pipe system. You might even be able to use the same bends you have in a different order to make it look a little cleaner. Just my .02, and don't ask me to race either please.

I love it... who gives a crap what it looks like. Once your hood closes....it dont matter anymore. What was your final price tag for everything?? Id rather say "i got 1200 bucks into the project...but it aint pretty" then say "i got 4k in the project, but it looks total BLING BLING "

Congrats on boosting it. That wideband looked cool...got a link to it? I say suck your air in somewhere else though.

i just dont need your useless @!#$. just cause i spent half the money you did on a turbo setup doesn't give you the right to say that my car looks like crap, i already know that.

not my fault you cant take constructive critism

and i did comend you on doing the job your self

so either learn to expect the truth , or dont post

im actually suprised more people didnt speak the truth

and i though some of my set up looked like crap , if you wanna look at it here is a link

keep in mind the more rubber/silicone connectors , the more boost issues you will have because they have to expand and contract , also the same goes for the differences in piping size , you want to keep the size mostly the same

Re: boosted ecotec finally finished, PICS

^^ You're right about different pipe sizes, but silicon connectors aren't going to have swelling issues under boost until you're way above what a stock internal eco can handle anyway. Most of my charge pipes are entirely rubber, I run 20 psi and don't have any abnormal fluctuations, and the guys running all-metal ones haven't seen any difference in power or boost level between the stock rubber and new metal replacements. Personally, the only stuff i pointed out is the stuff that is hurting efficiency and performance, which also happens to look the worst. Otherwise, showcar flash and bling bling have nothing to do with going fast, so who really cares? Its hardly something to work yourselves into a pissing contest over.

JDM cav after seeing your setup, i now respect your comment. it does look like @!#$, i am getting a new front mount and will hopefully make the piping better.

sorry if it seamed to harsh

like i said , i comend you on doing the job , most wouldnt even try

just try to keep the amount of connectors down , and keep a uniform size for the piping

im sure the way it feels will be alot better

you know what i think it is great, yeah you need to work on the fit and finish alittle but hell i wish i had it, i would just fix it up here and there as your budget allows, i understand completely what your doing, i did the same thing only with an intake instead of a turbo...not coz i didnt have the money for an AEM or Wepon R... i just refuse to pay 200 for a piece of pipe and a filter, so i got an ebay special, just had to work on it to make it fit, painted it, and now it looks like an AEM but only cost me 30 bucks. it wont take much at all to make that thing look like you had it professionally installed. again great job and take the negitive coments with a grain of salt. keep it up bro.
