ill be boosted in like 2 weeks i got all my parts in. are the motor mounts a good idea to also buy? i was thinking of purchasing them through karo but when i see reviews from other people on sites a few say the had them in and took them out cuz they sucked "too much vibration on dashboard and steering wheel" now idn if thats cuz poor installation or wat. so what does everyone thing i should do? (upper and lower that is ill be doin both) also the transmission mounts neone have those and are those any good or not really worth it?
for a boosted car, i'd suggest it, gives you more direct power to the ground w/ less engine shake. hence, why your car yes will vibrate more. some people dont like it, but if u're willing to go thru the whole process of boosting, well im guess you're not longer too worried about the comfort level
. as for the tranny mounts, i heard they are worth it if you have a race only car, cuz those will put SERIOUS vibes into your cabin.

I thought the mounts were necessary on my car. I found that once the kit was in my engine was tapping the hood just a little. So i installed them to stop that torque and when i removed the stock ones they looked really worn for the small amount of time they were there.
It is a very good idea. For 3 good reasons: less wheel hop, protects ur investment, by which i mean the engine doesnt shake and wont break things, and lastly u get that extra hp to the ground. Why wouldnt u if ur boosted??

motor mounts are good on a near stock car too.
get the ones from karo for sure.
vibrations arnt bad at all.
I don't want to jack this guys post... but i have heard the mounts will eliminate most of the wheel hop you get of the launch... is this true? because i really want to get rid of that as i hear it can and will break your axles....
Supercharged 2.4L
nah thats straight ur not jackin but neways i dont kno much about eliminating wheel hop i did post with this a thread on wheel hop
http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=2&i=300322&t=300322
but i do kno (have been told) that these mounts do help eliminate some. but bad launches come wheel hop and when i have a good launch i dont get ne so that too but some good answers are on that link above.
if u get the mounts and like control arm bushing u'll have near none wheel hop. I know i dont have near a lot of power none but i used to get some wheel hop and have none now with those mods.

Thank you 5SPD Z and GreenFire... well i have the mounts sitting in a pile of parts that still need to go on the car... but i think ill get the control arm bushings as well and maybe the trany mount and put them all in at once. and maybe some more bracing in the front... i mean i don't get wheel hop very often, but when i do its violent. and i don't want to break any thing from it...
Supercharged 2.4L
oh i hear ya..ill be runnin boost soon so i def dont wanna hit some wheel hop thats the worst but i think nething would help really. sway bars prolly cuz it stiffens everythin up alil but im just gonna do motor mounts, sway bar, and controll arm bushings hope im set..but freebs here check this out i heard its not to bad and its cheap and somethin u can install yourself it reduces some wheel hop :
