Well she's all back in one piece now, though a little crippled since we didn't make our deadline for being able to take the car to have the VCM reprogrammed. I'll be bringing it in on Monday now to have that done. In the meantime... she runs and looks pretty.
For my own part, I've probably lost a few IQ points after SMASHING my head off the bottom of the half-lowered garage door not once... or twice... or three times... but four bloody times before finally learning my lesson on how to crawl out from under the car.
The first time I thought I'd cracked my head open. After that... it seemed to hurt less and less each time. I don't think I was hitting it any less hard... I probably just killed off whatever nerves were meant to tell me I'd just got hurt.
The whole install took around 10 hours, including a lunch break. I'm really not sure why it took so long since we didn't really run into any serious snags. We were missing a page from the manual which somehow wasn't included. It wasn't lost as the page numbers, printed front and back, went from 5 to 7. Page 6 simply wasn't there. Long since forgotten French skills came into play though as we managed to work our way through the equivilent instructions in French, which were there along with the Spanish.
Special thanks go out to Bruce, Aaron, CT, Chuck, Lisa, Khal, Ken, and to Craig and RSM Racing without whom it would never have been finished and certainly without the little extra bit in the pics. As usual, the Precizion crew never fails to bend over backwards to lend a helping hand when a fellow member needs it!
I'd add myself to the boosted J's list... but technically I'm not boosted yet. Bypass will be tied open until Monday.
Incidentally, I think the advice about getting a thread tap was sound. One of the two holes for the bottom bracket wasn't threading right. The other seemed ok, but the driver's side hole didn't at all want to let the bolt in. I guess a trip to pick up a tap would have been a good idea, but it ended up being nothing a bit of strength and a long enough johnson bar couldn't handle. I don't think that bolt's ever coming out again though!!!
Nice and clean. Plan on taking that thing to the dyno?
very nice weasel, congrats. now you jus have to clean up your engine bay to mawtch that nice, shiny supercharger

I'm just a little concerned about the placement of the s-tube. Is it supposed to be pressed right into the battery??
yep, thats the way mine is. you could relocate the battery somewhere else and just get a straight tube to make it cold air or whatever

Don't worry to much on the S-tube. In my case after 5K miles on it, the tube is scratch free, just try to give it the most clearance as possible.
Oh and why are you on top of the engine? In the manual I did not read, "owners must get on top engine to install S/Cer."
