ok well i emailed bluetonguemotorsports.com about getting new pulleys for my s/c. And they only have the 2.75" pulley... and to get the 2.7" pulley its $30 more... I am just wondering if there really is any difference from the two? if not i am just going to order the 2.75" one from them.
Oh and is there a special tool to pull the pulley off? or can i just use any pulley puller?
i have the 2.75 pulley and see 6-7 psi with the secret cams. As for a tool to pull the pulley they have a power steering pump pulley puller and press kit at autozone for about 30 bucks. The puller works great but the press is not that great. use lots of heat on the hub when pressing it on and you should be ok.
Aright well if your seeing that with the different cams i should be able to get 6psi on stock cams. Also about using heat to put it on... i dont really want to as raven did that on his 3.8L GTP engine and recked a seal on it...
yeah you just heat the hub up a little bit before you put it onto the shaft not heat it while it is on the shaft. the hub will hold the heat for a little while and make it alot easier to press on. you might be able to get away without heat i just used it because it is recommended on here all the time with genearally good results.
oh and wrap the snout in a poop load of cool wet rags, itll keep the heat away from the seals,
