knock sensor blues......

i am not very familiar with drilling into the block and threading the knock sensor. I have a 2k ld9 going in a 96 z24 so i have to drill out the knock sensor. Is this an easy DIY problem or should i take it to a machine shop?

do it your self.

just find the right size drill bit, drill the hole out, and find the right size tap as your 96 knock sensor and have at the hole.

need anything else answered i can help, i have a 2k motor in my 96 z24.

Just did it 2 weeks ago , Drill size 10.5mm or 27/64 , Tap size 12mm by 1.25 thread...

Cast iron is very easy to drill.

did you have any trouble finding the tap... i have checked every hardware store in my area and they all have 12mm x 1.50 or 1.75 thread but not the 1.25 thread. This has set me back 3 more days on my swap. I had to order it here.....
