I've searched through the forums but I haven't had any sucess. I pretty sure that there aren't any companies that make them for a 2200 engine. I was wondering if anyone has been able to make it work with that engine.

What about putting it in a different location and running piping to the intake and running a shaft from the pulley system to the supercharger
<img src="http://ad.nicoclub.com/banners/nico-banner1.gif" ></a>
why not look at a vortec supercharger from rsmracing.com
2000 Dark metallica green cavalier. (2.2 2200) pace setter 4-1 header, magna flow cat, dual quad tip dtm muffler, 1800 watt stereo with satalite radio, momo 16in rims, from rk sport strut bar, rear vibrant strut bar, indeglow gauge cluster along with matching hvac panel, clear corner lenses, altezz tails, vibrant wai, carbon fiber oem style hood, rsm lightened crank pulley....
and soon to be part of my family of which is may car, the rsm supercharger 8psi, waiting until i get time to install it....
"Disarters are just another star falling in my yard."
I'm just wondering whether or not this idea would work
<img src="http://ad.nicoclub.com/banners/nico-banner1.gif" ></a>
Ive seen it before. Now i cant remember where i saw it. But some guy had one mounted over into his intake track (the tube) I cant imagine it giving u that much power tho cuz it isnt forcing air directly into the intake mani like the others do. It was in the location of where the battery was.

if anyone can give me some info on it would be helpful cuz I'd like to give it a try

Why bother with an ineffecient roots blower that's just throwing your money away,
but go right ahead if you got deep pockets.
"Are you sure your A/F ratio is correct? That hole in your Block custom?"
roots blowers kick ass on big blocks. centrifugal style blowers like vortech and prochargers kick ass on 4 cylinders... ya know if you are looking for a custom blower setep, ProCharger DOES sell that.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
take a look around for s/c'ers made for the duke (2.5L old school, it will take some diggin), you might have luck adapting that. dukes were used a bunch in racing back in the day so you may have luck there. ive never seen this type setup, you may just wanna stick with turbo..
Sven you totally quarterloafed your computer..

Well if u like spending TONS of money in centrifugal style blowers that dont really give u your money's worth.
As for this blower idea, i couldnt imagine it giving you more that 50 hp. Just isnt worth it man!

I have been saying this for years now. You must be the only person who understands me. Get a hold of an Eaton M90 from a thunder bird, or cougar. And do the following, as seen in my Photoshoped pic here. I have put an M90 there before to make sure it fits, and it does.
nice idea! i would have never figured it would fit there. move the battery (heat) and make a custom bracket for the pulley and a mount and you may be in business. intercooler is even an option with this route. i dont know if id m90, maybe a smaller charger would be fine, but either way thats a great plan for that type of setup.

I'll be honest, that is an all-around bad idea. There is way too much custom work involved with all the brackets, pulleys and rods. Also, where is the alternator going to go? If you were going to go through all of that trouble, why not just put a centrifigal charger there and not worry about the intake manifold sized hole on the bottom of a roots blower?
It would be way cheaper, less time consuming and more rewarding (power-wise) to just get a used 2.4 motor and the GM charger.

Couldn't you go "up" with the charger? It would require a custom hood, but if thats where the room is, than thats how it works. If you think about it, there isnt really room on most V8 engine bays for a roots type, they just go "up". Custom intake mani is a must. I remember someone a while back had a custome intake mani, homemade.
Does it go faster?
You could go up , or down. I put it down, so you could run it through an intercooler. An m 90 is also capable of 30psi too, so you will never have to worry about no moving enough Cfm with that bad boy.
so let me get this straight . This "should" work if I gave it a try.
<img src="http://ad.nicoclub.com/banners/nico-banner1.gif" ></a>
Yes It should. But you have to know what your doing, and have a welder to make brakets, and stuff like that.
M90 on a 2.2L? Considering GM used an M45 on the 2.4L kit, and the M60 on the Eco & Series I 3800's, you'll probably never even get an M90 on there. To whoever did the Photoshop, I'm inclined to say that the M90 is a good bit bigger than the width of that battery, it won't fit there.
On a ligher note, If anyone can get an M90 to 30psi, and be reliable, with good intake charge temps, let me know. Most we see on CGP is like 15-18, WITH an Air-Water I/C, I can run around 12-13 right now without major KR.
P.S. - The adiabatic efficiency of the Eaton/Whipple roots blowers is, when used in there prime operating range, IIRC, higher than a majority of turbochargers...
I did the photoshop, And I have put an M90 right there. and yes you cant see 30 psi on a 3.8, but an engine with less displacement it is easyier to get higher psi, due to the fact the S/c does not have to fill a larger Volume. I am not saying that 30 psi is effecient I was just saying it to give you an idea. Do a search online, and they use this same setup on the V6 Ford probes, and they have even less rome than the J body.
